My wife has been complaining that the neighbours are very loud. They are a rock band you see and they play their music at one of the band member's mansions next to my house.

Frankly, I like the music and I don't mind them playing at all. How can I convince my wife that their is nothing to complain about?

Should I pretend that I have approached the neighbours?

I had to go through this once. The band sucked, but that wasn't the point. I did have a talk with them, though, and came to a friendly agreement. They wouldn't play past about 9:00pm, which by California law, is disturbing the peace. Every now wnd then, though I had to call and remind them, but they were cool about it. Even apologetic. If they had a sound proof room, you wouldn't have to deal with this, but you can't just let it sit. Talk to them in a friendly manner.

Do not lie to her. That will certainly present a deeper issue if and when she finds out differently. How are the other neighbors reacting? If they are practicing at an inappropriate hour I can understand, and I would think you should understand her frustration. If they practice during a more reasonable time I would try to ride it out for now. Do they practice every day? Some neighborhoods have a noise ordinance, and a complaint could then be made anonymously.

Have the balls to be honest with your wife. That way she can do what she thinks is necessary. Most REAL men would stand behind their wife, not side with the neighbors. My sympathies to your wife. She should call the police and report the noise.

Try talking to your neighbors. Maybe you can work out a schedule for them to practice while your wife is gone. Or maybe you could help them design and build a soundproof room. When you want to hear their music you could listen to a cd or maybe they will invite you over for a jam session once in a while.

Just tell your wife that you like hearing the music: get her some ear plugs..... No reason to start Bs with the neighbors.....
Good Luck : do not lie and say you have talked to the neighbor.....

Me thinks she doth protest too much. She is covering up for the fact that she is messing around with a member of that band.

Well ya better think of somehin to tell her or you'll be couchin it for a while. I would suggest you ask you neighbor to turn down the music when it gets late or they can deal with your wife.. and tell your wife to complain to the local law inforcement duh
