Something small that will not get in the way, take up space or be tossed out unless he hates you in the future. A necklace with pendant, watch, charm of some sort. You know something he can pull out of his what nots and see then remember you.

Give him a framed picture of both of you.
Your favourite pendant on a chain
... you could also record your voice on tape or CD about certain things (unforgettable days spent together... your family... his family... our friends.. a song ... a poem- jokes that he could laugh at) so he always hears your voice.
Record a collection of (both of )your favourite songs
now that I think about it, the list could be endless!

something that is meaningful.........like a necklace or sumthing..........tell him to return it to you when the both of you meet again.........and when the both of you meet again........and returns the stuff...........means he didn't forget about you.............do your best in love.......have a nice day..........
