My gradma is a 64 year old diabetic, and twice she checked my blood suger, dispite my protests. I protested because I have a fear a needles. I know it is not a shot needle, but I still didn't want her to poke me with it. One time she had my brother and step-sister hold me down in a chair to prick my finger. The next time, she made me feel guilty so that she could do it. Now we just a big fight because I wouldn't let her check it. Did she cross a line, or did I over react to a simple situation?

18 yrs ago I had a son from the result of bad experience w/someone I went to high school with. I was soo distraught over the incident, that my son was eventually signed over to my parents to raise. His biological father never met my son & never seen him, he ended up dieing in a car crash when my son was 6. The thing is, is that his fathers family (grandparents) lived 5 blocks from my parents house & they never knew of my son. I found out a few years back, that after my sons father died, his sister Od'd a year later & than his father died w/in a year & half...so the grandmother lost her son, daughter & husband all w/in 2 years...she never met my son, because my mother wouldnt let me take him over there., she said it was not my business! She said she wasnt ready to share him w/some strange woman.that when hes 18 & if he wants to meet her, than thats his choice. Should I finally tell or is it too late? Do you think she'll be upset for not having the chance to have met her dead sons kid?

We invited my husband's parents and sister over for a bonfire at my parents house this Sunday. We asked them a week ago and they said they would go. Today We called them to make sure they are still coming and they said that they are inviting us over this Sunday for dinner at their place after we already invited them to my folk's place the same day and they already said okay to that. They said that we always see my parents more than we see them and that we never see my husband's sister so we should have to go over to their house. They are always busy on the weekends with car races and horse shows and they work during the day all week while my husband works 2nd shift. So it's almost impossible to get together. What should we do? We've always done more stuff with my parents because his are always busy, but they never complained about it until we had a baby. My husband is upset because he doesn't want to upset me or his mother. What are we supposed to do?

My family never visits me, and I live in Africa, while they live back in Ireland. I can understand my mother's reasons. (She had skin cancer, and the sun here is very strong) but the other members of my family...
Friends visited me, yes, but not my family. Not one single member.
Laughing, not that I want them to visit, but my colleagues and friends here are asking questions as I'm nearly 3 years here.

My sister's 12-year wedding anniversary is this Sunday, which is the day before Memorial Day. She wants me to babysit her 3 kids for 6 hours while she and her husband go out. No I don't want to and am not in the mindset to babysit. I even told her that, but got suckered into babysitting. Sunday's weather is supposed to be nice, while Monday it is supposed to storm all day. Do you think that I should call and cancel with her? I am seriously dreading it.

im turning 18 and graduating soon so like heres what happened. ive had my drivers license for like 2 years and im graduating soon so for an early graduation present my parents bought me a car. now i have posters of my dream bmw in my room. so they know the 1 i wanted. well, i come home from school and in the garage my dad suprises me with the bmw. i acted like i like it but i was totally thinking.. hello its green and its not a convertible. then i find out its not even new. its a 2006 model with like 15000 miles. i really dont want to be seen driving to college in it. how can i tell them to take it back in a nice way. i feel like saying if your gonna get me a car, you can at least get me the one i wanted. i dont want to hurt their feelings cause they were so excited when they were giving it to me. i dont understand it cause 1 time they got my sister the exact car she wanted. color and everything. its was a ford mustang convertible and it was new. its so unfair. how can i tell them?

My child's father hasn't been in his life wat so ever and my mom has helped me take care of my son since he's been born. If something happens to me he has the first choice to get my son and I'd like for my mom to get custody of him. He isn't in his life and doesn't take care of him at all. How do I go about terminating his rights and making sure my mom gets my son if something shall happen?

Parents who supply beer to their kids and let them drink in their house because "it's safer; they'll do it anyway." Or the parents who know darn well what their rebel children are doing on Saturday nights. Parents who buy their kids iPods and computers because they "love" them even though they were picked up by the cops the night before their birthday. Discipline, people! I'm not critisizing every parent with bad children, but the people who don't enforce rules and ethics are poisonous. Good parents, bad parents, speak up. I'm not lecturing or trying to be pompous, but it just makes me sick how some parents raise their children.

We were asked by his aunt to go see her back in Feb. while she was still coherient. Today he left to go see her in the hospital sad and crying while she is near death and incoherint. Who besides me thinks this is so wrong. He left me at home and said "I'm going to see my grandma" I gave him 2 weekends back in Feb. for us to go see her and he didn't bother giving me an answer.
I want to boycott the funeral and let him go by himself. After all she'll be dead anyway. Any advice?

my father was seeing a woman who had a child from a previous marriage. The mother past away about 2 yrs ago of cancer and my dad was left to care for this girl now 13. My dad worked nights and never knew that this little girl would runaway because her mother would cover for her all the time. Now that she (the mom) has past my dad has noticed that she runs away for days and doesnt go to school doesnt call to say she's ok and when she comes back she acts as if nothing happens. My dad is tired of it and has 2 other kids one of which is autistic and he himself is getting bad headaches worrying about this girl. My dad has asked Family and Children Services for help and they were no help. The police have brought her home and he's even asked them for help. Which of course were no help. What other options does he have?

My younger sister is really getting on my last nerve. She is a theif and I can't take it any longer. She started taking my shirts and I tried not to make a big deal but then one day I was taking the laundry basket downstairs and my bra was in there. I told my mom she needs to talk with her because if she didn't I knew I was going to kill her. She has taken money before, my brush, makeup, socks etc. Today I went in her room to tell her something and in a pile of laundry I see my underwear with a dirty pantyliner inside. I ran outside tell my dad and he says he can't do anything and that I'm over reacting. Am I or do I have a right to be angry and believe something should be done?
