I would get gift cards that he can use around town not just one.
Gas cards are great to give now and so would car washes or even something from a bike shop to repair his bike or maybe he wants to put the money towards a new bike you could talk to him and see if he is at all looking to get a new bike with in the next year or so and ask him where and then talk to the bike shop and get a gift certificate from there. Make sure that if he does not decide to get a bike that he could use the certificate for other items at the shop. Does he have a keyboard stand for his keyboard? Or you could go to a music store and get him some song books that he would like talk to him so that you know what kind of music he likes to play.

Give him a jokebook, so he can pull pranks to his friends, LOL
Or you could also give him a card saying nice words like ILL MISS YOU or YOU WOULD STILL BE MY BROTHER ALL ALONG...
That would be nice though.......
But whats mainly the best gift is that you can just give him a little private talk and yall both think about all the good times you both had. Talk like its the beginning of the world. And also be very polite and patient. It might take a long time for the two of you to talk things over, but you would get the hang of it. Tell him that I hope you have a good time at collage/university and that he would have a good future................
So when you are talking about back then and good luck ect., your brother would think about that this is the beginning of his new world. He would completely know more about life going on.............and he would know on how to stand up on other people ....................
You know that buying something is not the real gift,..........its your words...................

Is he serious about his bike riding?
By him some riding gear, or some tools, to repair the bikes.
Or, w/ the art, you could get him a bunch of art supplies.
Like canvas, sketchpad, water or oil paints, a nice pencil set for sketching,
Actually, scratch all that.
I would look into getting him a digital camera.
If you need $50.00 more bucks or so ask the parents to pitch in.
It's something he'll take w/ him EVERYWHERE he goes, and even off to college. It's something that's fun, but needed.
And, he'll probably be really happy about it, and how cool that he can tell everybody that you bought him a "bombass" camera for his graduation.

Tickets for something cool with a buddy. Perhaps a stunt bike competition or something over the summer that he would not splash out on.

give him a gag gift, something he would find funny and then a gift card. he will never forget the joke and will appreciate the gift card instead of sentiment over something stupid like highschool.
