I called my mother a day bfore Mother's Day, and she gave me an ice cold reception. I signed a behavorial contract when I was in a children's group home and it stipulates what I must do in order to get home visits again. That means, writing lettrs, then phone calls, then home visits. I signed that contract 15 years ago, and she still won't release me from it. Can anyone help me on what I need to do to reconcile with my mother?

You should talk to her.

Tell her how much you love her.

And that you're sorry for whatever
you did.

GOOD LUCK

My mother and I have a weird relationship... She tears me down every chance she gets. There comes a time in your life that you just have to let it go. I always respected my mom and I kelp my mouth shut when she hurt me... I am now 40 and have kids of my own. I would never tear them down the way she has torn me down. Learn from you elders and build your own life. She told me 2 days ago that my kids are disrespectful and not once have my kids ever crossed her, they are scared to death of her! She couldn't tell you the color of my kids eyes, she knows nothing about them. You just have to build a life without her, it's hard but a person like that is never satisfied...

If you know you are leading a good life now you should write and tell your mother and tell her that u don't feel that that contact still holds any water and its up to her to accept you. You need to get on with your life and if your mother wants to be part of it then good and well.
