My step-son has been through a lot in his young 7 years. He's survived living in an orphanage for 20 months, being adopted, having his Mom leave 10 months later, re-marry a year later, have a baby, and have his dad re-marry (to me). His Mom is getting divorced again. I am in no way judging her (this is between her & her husband), but I know that my step-son cares for his step-dad very much. Stepson spends the summer with his Mom before coming home for school. He's going through this now while with her and she's already said he's acting out. What is the best way to help him cope with the divorce and loss of a step-parent? I have no experience in this except for being the stepmom... do kids go through the same normal feelings even when it's a stepparent?

DH and I want to do whatever we can to help stepson out as much as possible. He usuallly talks to me a lot and will open up with me more than anyone else. I want to do the right thing! Please help! Thank you.

Hi
After nearly 8 years together and 2 years being engaged - a few months ago my boyfriend(as I now call him) told me he did nt want to get married. He said he did nt know the reason why? He has told me he is not having an affair. In fact he thinks that would be an easier answer. I have been absolutely devastated as we were just starting to get things sorted. We had the venue, date photographer and I had found my dress. (Fortunately not bought it)
We have gone thru so much. He says he still loves me and wants us to stay together althou there was a time when both of us could ve called it quits as I want to get married and he thought it would be unfair if he does nt change his mind.
We are currently trying to work thru it and touch base again. He has had a bad experience in the past and is scared of marriage.
He likes thing the way they are but I want more. He is my total soulmate and this is the first time he has ever hurt me.
Has anyone got any advice? Male opinions also good.

I must be the stupidist person, I am married to a decent man, he is good to the kids. I have never felt deeply for him, we have had a very rough 4 yrs of marriage- you name it, we have had it already. We have discused divorce, even filled out the papers. I am not sure if we are both insecure or just sure yet- I am not wanting this to be the biggest mistake i ever make. I have been talking romantically to a close friend recently. I am confused, I have always had a strong connection to this friend and now there is the opprotunity to be more. He is fantastic, really. I am just afraid- I am at a crossroads in my life and I don't know which path to choose. The one I have been on but never been fulfilled in or the one with the friend which is uncharted but promising. Am I being selfish by wanting more in life than what is now? Will I always regret not taking the other road (whichever i choose)? Please explain why this is happening in my life? Why can't I be?

if my dad has a gun b/c he is a retired police officer, is that supposed to warn me to not do anything when he's drunk?
and also is it bad if my dad calls me at 3 in the morning b/c he didn't know where I was, when I specifically told him the night before that I was staying at a friends house? but I told him when he was drunk. that's why I stayed at my friend's house.

I am in Florida and I just got married. I need to change my name on my driver's license, social security and all the other things. When I get married does my last name automatically change to my husband's or do I need to file more paperwork for that?

Let me start by saying I am a strong, beautiful, extremely intelligent woman. I have never had a problem obtaining the attention of men...... until now! My live in boyfriend is addicted to porn. He always had quite a bit of porn in his home beore we moved in together and I was ok with it even being in our house until it started taking the place of our intimacy. I was never threatend by it before and even had fun with it. I've begged, cried, threatened, and even tryed to talk to him calmly about this and nothing changes. I love him dearly and he says the same about me. We live as if we are married, house, cars, step son. It has gotten to the point where I feel as if I'm lacking in some way. All my guy friends tell me he nuts not to want me. What can I do to save this relationship and not feel so helpless????

I am trying for the past three months to accept my marriage is over,it all a blur,it happened so fast.I miss her so much. Why did she do this. The divorce will be final this week. She has moved on.She says she wants to be alone. She's a closet alcoholic.Hid it from me,before our marriage and during.Shes passive agressive in nature.I think the truth is shes found someone else but will she ever tell me the truth.I just wanted the truth.Shes very private and closed off.Im open and honest. She said we couldn't live together unless we were married, she didn't want to set that example for her son.We got married. What kind of example does it set when you file for divorce after only to years.I would have done anything to work it out.She says shes done,no more room in her heart for meno more second chances to give.Says her heart is hardened and closed off.Is this just a story or is she just saying this because she has found someone else.It kills me not knowing the truth and i think she gets of on it.

If you had to base your current marriage strictly on sex, would you say you would be happily married, separated, or divorced?

Just because your not married to the mother anymore, you still have kids, and they deserve the same life they would have had , if their parents hadn't divorced. Why should they suffer, while their parent goes off, and has a great life?

And kids very rarely move out at 18, so the mother is still financially helping, and supporting the kids, while the father is free of any responsibility! The kids just don't move out on their 18th birthday! They still need support, untill the get on their feet! They don't just get kicked out on their 18th birthday! And of course the child it WORKING at 18, but not making enough to pay for college, a apartment, food, and all other expenses!

So answer both questions!

Why do fathers hate paying Child support?

Why are the fathers free not to pay when the child turns 18, when the mother is still supporting the kids?

I'll just call my Sister in law B. In early May I started asking B when her sons B-day party would be, and was told quite a few times that she hadn't planned it yet but that it would probably be a few weeks away as she had just had her daughters party. No big deal to me but the last time I asked her she said that his party would be on the 12th. Well that happened to be the same day that my son was having graduating in karate and getting his new belt so I told her that we may not be able to make it but that we would try. B proceeded to go off on me and told me that I had known about his party for a month. Although she didn't know where or what time the party was to be held until the day before the party. I gave out invitations to my daughter party 3 weeks before and she called day of the party with every excuse in the book as to why her family couldn't come. She has 5 children and we have missed 2 of her childrens parties ever. I'm ticked and I feel like she's being childish.

He brings her memories up often and even calls our cats her cats names. He still talks to her even when I told him that it hurts my feelings.

I am very old fashioned when it comes to masurbastion, and I feel too shy to do it. I need some advice. I have done the whole dress-up thing with heels and dance, but no "M." I only wish I had the courage to do it. Any suggestions?
MEN out there, would you look on your woman any differently if she did "M" in front of you? HELP!

Last night I saw an ad that conveyed the idea that guys are dirty smelly disgusting slobs. Whats up? Do females really think that way about us? Do you females even like guys? If so, why. If not, why not? This is meant to be a serious and polite question.

My heart is broken. My boyfriend and best friend of 10 years have decided to take a break. How will I ever heal from losing a boyfriend and my best friend. Anytime anything happens both good or bad in my life he is the first person I want to run to and talk to. Would if I never get over it? I want to have a life and I want to be happy again but the pain I feel just completely wears me down and all I do is cry, even at my desk at work. My life seems so hopeless without him. How could he just leave me so easily after our long history. He doesn't want us to see other people he just needs to figure out what he wants to do with his life. Why doesn't he want to figure things out with me by his side. We used to be so happy, how could he just risk it by taking a break. I really appreciate any advice that can be offered. Especially from those who have been through a similar situation.

We're having our wedding in Oregon (where I grew and half my family still loves) on the coast. Most of our guest will be traveling from Ohio and may stay for at least the weekend, some for a whole week. We obviously will not be able to entertain them the entire week but will have get togethers and events the weekend of the wedding.

Instead of a tin of mints or some favor that will be thrown out anyways I'm having the hotel put gift baskets in all the rooms of our guests. I want to include things like bottels of water, sunscreen and a lst of locations to visit and things to do in the area (with directions and contact info). But I'm at a loss on other things to include as well as what to put everything in.

I am on a budget but I dont have too many guests and it will be one basket per couple/family). Any idead would be greatly appriciated.

Also any beach wedding ideas or experiances would be lovely.
Thanks so much!

Many people consider the "chat love " as virtual and platonic kind of love;just an illusion or impossible dream.Live chat can change the story a little bit,but the contact person to person is the best and the most real way to know a person.

Your opinions,please
