It isn't likely. A lot of people fall in love with who they assume or want to assume the other person is. It usually isn't the same in person. Say you like someone and the things they write about and the things you talk about and all that jazz. But what if you meet them in person and their mannerisms irk you and their hygiene is terrible and so forth. To many people looking for love in ALL the WRONG places.

RE:
Is it possible to fall in love with someone you don't know on the CHAT? Real or virtual love?
Many people consider the "chat love " as virtual and platonic kind of love;just an illusion or impossible dream.Live chat can change the story a little bit,but the contact person to person is the best and the most real way to know a person.
Your opinions,please

Sure, but let me clarify. You can create real feelings, and real care for anyone, hell, anything that you come in contact with. (via Internet or otherwise) And its no illusion, however it is not healthy to do so and it also shows signs of possible personality disorders.
The Internet should be used for fun and communication. When the Internet begins to change your very life, especially something as life changing as love, you need to go outside, ride a bike or something, and rethink where you are in your life cause you are not where you should be.
Good luck with that Internet love thing, though

I met my husband on line and we have been together 8 years. I really liked him online and knew I loved him after I met him.
People have been falling in love over long distances for many years. Men in the west used to marry women sight unseen that they coresponded with for long periods of time and those women used to leave their families and friends never to see them again to go live on farms miles away from anything, carry water miles and pull plows and have babies in dark cabins some times with out help from even neighbors.... what but love could convince a woman to do all that? oh yeah then they would be married for 50 or so years to this fella. sounds like love to me. Much better than a realtionship where you sleep together on a first date.
Chat may be high tech but long distance love affairs kept alive in written word have been around since the written word!
But be careful and sensible and make sure he isn't hiding a wife or criminal record and anything you don't want in a package deal.

it depends on how you define "love"
personally i think of real love as when two people love each other - its reciprocated.
I would say that it could be possible online, but a lot tougher - its obviously better in person. I mean, a huge part of love is how much two people connect and appreciate each others' personality, and that can be shown online. Really the only thing that isnt shown is the persons looks and movemement, and how actually confident or bold they are, or i guess how awkward in person they are. Those are things that can only be seen in real life.
But for my vote, id say yes its possible, but i dont think it could go too deep.

It seems obvious to me that you cannot fall in love with a person you have not met because you only know a part of them from chatting on line. You might finally meet this person and spend time with them and find out you liked them much better in cyber space!! That is why these so-called "relationships" on line are so freaky to me. You are not experiencing the whole live person. So sad and weird!

You only know what the person tells you about them. You can fall for the person you think they are but i wouldnt suggest it. You could end up hurt in the end when he reveals hes a 50 year old pervert working for walmart when he told you he's a 29 year old lawyer who spends his free time at the children's hospital.

Yes it is possible because it has happened to me! I haven't ever met him but his words have me so in love with him. I mean I love chatting with him and I can't wait to meet him. I know that love can happen in strange ways and I am open to whatever happens! Good luck

I have heard of people falling in love that way and they got married and everything. But it can also be dangerous because I had a friend that met somebody online, met up with them, and got raped! You just have to use careful judgment!
