We didn't, but we had a family wedding a few days later. We used the rings then. If you're going to do that and you want to save them for that day, get some fun rings for the city hall ceremony. You're still married, even if you don't have the rings! Do what you feel comfortable doing.

Its totally up to you! The marriage commissioner asked us when we arrived, before the ceremony, if we had rings and wanted him to do the ring part of the ceremony. We did bring our wedding bands with us to city hall so he did that part of the ceremony for us.

Do as you wish. City Hall doesn't care if you have rings or not. They care that the proper documents are filed properly.
