my child is 2 and 2 months and we have a potty and toilet chair which was introduced to her 5 months ago however she will not go on either. she knows when she needs to go but will only do so in her nappy ive tried sitting her on the potty and seat for over and hour with breaks in between but she just dosn't seem to like it and she has said "fall down" when she sits on the toilet seat so i presumedshe scared bless her. i havn't shouted at her or made her sit on it when she dosn't want to as i have a friend who did this and her child was 3 before she came off nappies just wondering if anyone has any ideas that may work.

I have a little girl named Lily who will be turning 3 this year. I've always called her my lily pad so I was thinking a frog/ lily pad themed party would be appropriate and loads of fun. I have a lot of ideas for games to play, but what should I put in the favor bags for her friends? What kind of food should I serve? Inexpensive decorations? Help!!

My 19 month old will NOT eat bread. I made her a PB&J w/ crusts cut off, and she wouldn't even touch it. She won't eat any buttered dinner rolls, nothing. She takes one look at bread, and turns her head. I just can't figure out why. She won't eat oatmeal anymore either, but bread and oatmeal are the ONLY things she will refuse. She will eat any vegetable I put in front of her, but no bread. Any suggestions?

I have been trying to get ride of my little girls ringworms for about 3 months now. I took her to the pedi twice and they gave me cream and antibiotics by mouth-they went away while taking them but came right back. I keep a VERY clean house and no pets! They are only on her butt and top back part of her legs. Any suggestions anyone? If you planning on leaving some rude inmature comment DONT waste your time! Everyone else thanks!

My sister in law has gives in to her spoiled 3 year old daughter. We all went out this weekend to a car show. I brought along my 20 month old's stroller. My daughter might have got to use it for 30 minutes. My niece had climbed in it while my daughter and I were in the bathroom. I asked her to go ahead and get out and let her cousin have it back. She pitched a fit, and started to scream. Her Mom did nothing to help me get her out of the stroller. I had planned on letting my daughter snack and drink a juice box. I asked her again telling her she was a big girl and could walk, again she started in with her screeching, and whining. Her Mom told me she just doesn't want to, then said if I had to have the stroller her brother could carry her around. I told her no, that he didn't need to carry her around. She needed to be a big girl. Instead of her getting her daughter out she strolled off with all my daughter's stuff. I had to carry my daughter around, while I looked for them.

Anyone else have a toddler who is not ever seen without his blankie and his thumb in his mouth?? I don't mind so much (our son is 3) but lots of people have commented on it in a disapproving way. He does always seem to have it, he rubs his blankie on his face while he sucks his thumb. Should we limit is access or is this all ok?

Ok, I babysit this kid. He's four years old, but he acts more like a two year old, maybe younger. He doesn't speak in full sentences; he's barely speaking in full words. He can't catch a ball, even when I practically hand it to him. He doesn't focus on things like TV and he has a short attention span. But at the same time, he does things like hide in the exact same place over and over and I'll "find" him (he practically drags me to the place he hides) over and over. Also, he has this thing in his stomach...it goes into his belly, then a layer of guaze or somthing covers the hole around it, then this other plastic thing outside the gauze. OK, that's a not a very helpful desription, but it's the best I got.
I'm not sure if this is relevent, but I know his mom had him when she was young...I think she's around 20 now.

And yes, I know I should ask her about it. I will, I'd just like to have some information on what it could be before I ask.

Any ideas?

I don't want her running around calling it her"coochie" or some other disrespectful name. Only being 3 years old, it's difficult for her to pronounce vagina. What are some other appropriate names?

I was at the fair last night and saw a bunch of kids on leashes or harnesses. It was like a cute little kitty or bear backpack thing. It looked pretty cute plus it's a great way to keep your children safe. I used to be against those because they actually looked so inhumane but now they're cute and the straps are wider so it doesn't look like it would be uncomfortable. What are your opinions on this????

he is a twin and his sister talks more than him and the few words he does say are one syllables, like no, juice, etc... he acts very frustrated when i can't understand what he wants. his sister says small sentences like i can doooo ett. is that ok to not make sense to anyone else but me. they have some kind of "twin"talk they do, they understand each other buti'm clueless!! he is just worryin me since he's not putting 2 words togther like her, are there any sites that give info on thier devolpment, or does anyone have experence advice. i do encourage making them say what they want instead of freakin out, but he gets more frustrated. and does being a win have any reasons???

She has just started going on the potty a couple a weeks ago, in the morning she wakes up dry and goes potty when you put her on there. However the rest of the day she seems to hold it rather than go on the potty, but if i put her in proper knickers instead of pull ups she wees in her pants. Today she went on the potty in the morning then later had and accident in her knickers, then after her nap i put her on the potty, she sat there for twenty minutes without going. I let her up and within 5 minutes she went in her knickers. Though if i had pull ups on she would of held for hours and hours to the point i would rather her go back to nappies than hold for so long because holding for to long cant be good.

Just wondering.....

How did you potty train you child?

What gender?

How old were they?

How long did it take before they were trained?

I ask because my son is 2.5 and today I started potty training (he has been familier with potty since 1.5) He is really into the disney cars movie so I made him a cars potty chart, bought him the cars stickers for rewards, decorated his potty seat with cars, and bought him the cars underwear (along with a couple other things) I put him on the potty every 1/2 hour (more frequent if he did go when I put him on) He did awsome I just don't know how to get him to tell me he has to go or will it just come with time? I put him in the cool alert pull ups overnight, we'll see how that goes.
