Our son is 1 week shy of 14 months and tells us it's night night time and tries to climb into his crib and when he wakes up tries to climb out. He cannot climb out yet but should I seriously wait for that to happen? He screams when he can't get out to his toys. He takes his naps regularly and all in all is a very good boy. I think maybe he is telling me he's ready. He can get on and off the sofa and recliner easily for a few months now and has been walking since 10 months old. What's your opinion?

I think it reflects on the parents. They are obvisouly too old for it and the parents just don't want to deal with trying to take it. What do you think?

My son has recently been dragging around his blankets and I was wondering to the mothers who have children that cling to a specific thing for comfort should I stop this blanket thing before it gets out of hand or pray he grows out of it.

He has developed a whiny tone, he won't listen, he is driving me nuts!!!

I'm to the point where I understand why those mothers on the news abandon their children. I need a break but the only place I can take him is to my sisters where his cousin is and that's where he learnt all the whinging and lying and bad behavior from.

What am I supposed to do? I love him dearly but I just need a break, I am studying and working trying to make a better life for us but it's so hard.

Our family dresses to the shoe each morning even if we are not going to work or school. On the weekend we may be lazy for a few hours, but we always get dressed? Are we the only family that does this anymore.

I know kind of a silly question. But my 4 yr. old boy grabs at his private part alot and he doesn't do it because he needs to go potty. No matter if we are at the park or home or store he just keeps his hand on it. I have tried changing the size of his underwear in case it was too tight and that was why. And I have spoke with him. It hasn't worked any suggestions??

I feel really really horrible, but my son's teeth are turning yellow around his gums. I am worried he has cavities. He just turned one a few days ago. I brush his teeth but he fights it and fights it so it is hard for me to brush them well. He has also fallen asleep with a bottle since birth. I already know that was bad and I feel bad enough about it. When I take him in for the first time will they just give him an exam? Do they put him to sleep to examine him? I can imagine doing an exam on a one year old.

My husband went outside to swing with my 16 month old and she came in hardly able to walk. WAY off balance, kept falling. It was quite worrisome.... This happened for about 20 minutes. She was happy and seems healthy and was FINE up until that time, but it just seems odd that it would take her THAT long to get her balance back?? She DOES have ear problems and has had tubes for 6 months. Her hearing was perfect 2 weeks after the tubes were in, so I don't think it's that....should I be concerned ? Hopefully she'll wake up tomorrow and be perfectly fine, but of course I'm thinking of horrible things! Thanks for helping a first time Mom ease her fears a little!

My daughter (27 months) is very stubborn and has been going back and forth on the potty for months now. She will do real good with no accidents for a few days, then go back to having accidents during the next few days. I've tried everything! She doesn't seem to care at all about rewards, she doesn't care if I tell her it's gross to go in your pants, she wants to go only when SHE wants, not when we try to get her to go. She will just sit and sit and not do anything. And NO, we do not scold her or get mad at her. We simply tell her to try to make it to the potty next time whenever she has an accident. Those Easy-Ups are what got her to go from the start because I told her Dora doesn't want to get wet. That only worked for a short time, then she suddenly didn't care anymore. The panties don't work because then she tries to hold it as long as she can and that isn't good either. What do I do? And don't tell me she isn't ready because SHE is the one that wanted to do it in the first place.

my 3 year old goes to the restroom on his own when he needs to pee but when he has to have a BM he will hide and do it in his underwear. we read about using supoitories and we did just this weekend and he went in the potty but then he jumped off and said he was scared and he frantically flushed it away and said "that was scary"! i was wondering how i can make him see it is not scary?

Just curious- I noticed that their eating habbits at home are not great (they eat fast food daily and the kids are allowed to eat what ever they choose, whenever.) Their mother also makes a HUGE deal over food i.e. how good it is, has to bring a special treat each day at pick up time or the kids throw a huge fit.

Two days ago my daughter of 4 years old was playing with her sister of 2 years old. My 2 year old hit my 4 year with her head in her face by mistake- you know they were kind of jumping & stuff. Now my 4 year old has one of her front tooth lose. Is it going to fall off soon? Since she's still young will it harden back up? Will it turn black? Can something be done at the dentist so it wont fall of? Thanks everyone that answers seriously.
