it may be nothing, but i think you should watch it b/c my husband walked on his tiptoes from when he first started walking until he was 4 his parents finally took him to the dr. to see why and come to find out it was because of the arch in his foot being so high, it was not really a big deal, he says he just had to wear some kinda special shoe for a while, just keep an eye on it he also said when he wasnt on his tiptoes hie would be standing on the side of his foot...... hope that helps

I wouldn't try and stop the walking on the tiptoes he will grow out of it, my son quit cruising and began actually walking at thirteen months and he tends to walk on his tiptoes too, but he switches from the flat part of his feet to tiptoes, so I wouldn't worry if that it how he gets around.

OK FIRST OF ALL HOW OLD IS YOUR SON B/C THAT COULD HELP ALOT W/ THE ANSWER. BUT MY SON DIDNT ACTUALLY WALK UNTIL 14 MONTHS. HE WOULD WALK WHEN HE DIDNT NOTICE HE WAS DOING IT ALONE. WE GOT HIM ONE OF THOSE LITTLE THINGS THAT YOU PUSH WITH THE BALLS INSIDE THAT POP AND AFTER ABOUT A WEEK HE WOULD WALK AROUND CARRYING IT OFF THE GROUND BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY HE WOULD WALK FOR A LONG TIME. OH AND BOTH MY KIDS LOVED A WALKER AND WALK FINE NOW BUT I WOULD TRY PUTTING SHOES ON HIM SO HE CANT TIPTOE. AND MAYBE JUST HOLD HIS HAND AND LET HIM WALK LIKE THAT.

lower the walker so that he doesn't have to stretch his legs to walk.... this will help him to walk on the bottoms of his feet. Also invest in a good pair of tennis shoes for him. Not the soft soled crib shoe, but real ones like you would wear with a harder rubber sole. Keep them on him most of the day taking them off every so often as to not let his feet get sore.

All babies walk on their tiptoes while latched on to furniture its just the first steps for them to begin walking you can stop it by making him stop walking but thats like taking away a human ability and nothing will happen when he will walk normally just like anyone else.

This is perfectly normal. A babies weight is in his backside. At a young age if he were to try to try to use a heel to toe motion he will just fall on his bottom. I would promote helping him walk without his walker as much as possible by holding his hands. As his muscles develop, he will walk on his entire foot.

It's not harmful for him to walk on his tiptoes. That's where he has learned to balance thus far and that is where he is comfortable placing his weight. He will grow out of it. All of my nieces and nephews and, most currently, my new baby sister ALL did the same thing when they were young and they were all fine, no damage, perfect feet, and walk perfectly fine.

It's normal for him to do this. Don't worry!
Best of luck!
Peace,
Jenn

Our pediatrician told us early in to not use a walker at all, as it impedes learning to walk properly, but he could use a stationary activity center like an excersaucer to help them learn balance, etc.

So, get rid of the walker is my suggestion.

Get him out of the walker. They don't help kids learn to walk, hurt their hips, let them reach dangerous areas, and encourage walking on their toes. When he is ready to walk he will, and probably not on his toes.
