OK. I know I have to wean my babies off formula. They are now taking a formula bottle every 3 hours. So, do I just put milk in a sippy cup and give it to them every 3 hours or what? They already drink water out of sippy cups through out the day, but I am a little confused about how they will just stop drinking so much formula. Will there be screaming? Obviously I replace it with more food and milk, right. Can someone please give me a play by play of how this will go? Thanks.

I try to move my son to a toddler bed but he just gets up and walks away. The side of his crib comes off to become a toddler bed. I take it off, put him in it, read his story, say night night and walk away. Then he just gets up and comes out. I take him back in and do the same thing 9 or 10 times, then I put the side back on his crib and he goes right to sleep. Will this eventually work or am I going about it the wrong way?

They're small little bruises, and I'm assuming they've come from falling outside (or inside as we have hardwood throughout) or from playing rough with her 4-year-old sister, as they have a tendency to do.

Do you think people will recognize that they're from the trials of childhood or do you think assume she's abused?

Help, a friend of mine is at her wits end. Her daughter is 16 months old and just gets mad when her mother gets near her. She only wants to be near her daddy. When the child wakes up in the morning and her mom goes in to say goodmorning, the baby gets mad and cries or fusses. She also throws temper tantrums when mommy tries to do things for her.
Both parents work full time and the child's aunt is the babysitter. My friend is so sad and is trying to cope. She thinks the child doesn't like her. Please help :)

Thank you

My son still refuses vegetables and will only eat baby food veggies, everything else he loves as we eat it, but he won't eat vegetables unless they are baby food. Any ideas? I have tried using frozen peas and carrots, to no avail....

I run a daycare and one of the Moms just dropped her 2 toddlers and there is vomit in both of their carseats. Normally I would spray it off and wipe them up but this is really bad--completely soaked through the pad. One seat is an Eddie Bauer Toddler Seat and the other is a Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible. Does anyone know if taking the pads off and putting them in the washing machine would be ok? Gentle cycle? How about machine drying?

He uses it religiously when he has no pants or diaper on. However when that diaper is on it's like he thinks it's ok to do his business when ever nature calls. He doesn't even care to try. I need some advice I have told him "you don't want to dirty your diaper do you? Keep it clean now!" and that sort of thing... it has not worked so far... please offer me some advice.

My daycare provider semi-sucks. She lets the kids have mini chocolate chip cookies. I am freaking out for nothing? I just think she doesnt give the kids good quality food at such a young age. They don't have homemade breakfasts, ever - just like frozen pancakes or waffles or whatever...and they eat their snacks standing up. Anyways, long story, question is, am i being too cautious or what is normal for this age...? Thanks

My little one is 14 months. Sometimes she can stay up for 8 hours at a time--like until 11 p.m. Playing outside and swimming wear her out, but does anyone know of a good way to make her tired? She is so active and hardly seems to need any sleep! Help!

My wife always gives our kid (2 years old) a snack right before bed. Strawberries, cherrios, etc.
I'm totally against this. I think the body needs sleep as a time to recoup and the child body easily has enough energy to get thru the night. I know i function better if i don't eat after supper.
My wife said kids are different and need that input even before bed.
Any input?

I am potty training my 3rd child. He is 3 1/2. It took forever to get him out of diapers and to put on new underwear. We were so proud he made that step. I was able to get him to sit on the toilet, both big and little for a day. He did not go at all in the toilet. He rather go in his pants. Now I cannot even get him to sit on a toilet. He says it will take forever. I keep asking him every 20 minutes if he has to go and he says no, still going in his pants. I do not believe in rushing my kids when it comes to potty time, but 3 1/2 is getting way too old in my opinion. I did not have this struggle with my first two, and I feel like I am going to lose it. How to you potty train a strong willed child?

My 3 year son has figured out how to unbuckle his car seat straps and any other way to strap him in! One time, he got out and my mom-in-law got pulled over, because he was standing up in the back seat looking out the back window. Yes, I know Granny should have seen him, but she is a very careful driver...thus she watches the road. Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion on how to keep him strapped in?

Hi all, I just read an interesting question that made me think when is a good age to start teaching my daughter (now 6 months old) manners. When will she be able to understand the concept? I want to raise her being polite, saying thank you, excuse me, please, no/yes sir/mam, etc. Should I just start saying it to her now? Share your experience..thanks!

I have a 4 year old son who knows when he needs to potty but when he sits down on the potty... he cant go. He stands up and then feels the need to go again. But cant go when he sits down. We put a pull up on him and he goes. He can hold it and make it to the potty, but once there he no longer needs to go. And he will sit on the potty for 30 minutes or longer not going but as soon as he stands up he needs to go. So I put a pull up on him so he can go. Is there any way to help him go once he sits on the potty? I have tried offering him candy or telling him we will go somewhere if he goes potty. And he really wants it you can tell but he still cant go in the potty. Please any ideas will be nice.
