My little one is 14 months. Sometimes she can stay up for 8 hours at a time--like until 11 p.m. Playing outside and swimming wear her out, but does anyone know of a good way to make her tired? She is so active and hardly seems to need any sleep! Help!

This is going to sound weird but its really true. Does your 14 month old take a nap during the day? If you are skipping the nap in hopes that she will be tired and fall asleep, you are mistaken. Usually that makes toddlers over-tired and more keyed up when its time for bed. Make sure she rests for at least an hour during the day. Doesn't mean they have to actually sleep, but she should get some quiet restful time.

Try eliminating sugars (including fruit juice which has lots of sugar) from her diet.

Have a bedtime routine and stick to it. Something like bath, book, bedtime. And hey, if she doesn't want to sleep, that's ok too. If she just lays in there singing and talking to herself. There is nothing wrong that either. As long as she understands its quiet time.

My last piece of advice is to warm a little milk and honey with a dash of nutmeg. Kids like the taste and it makes them sleepy.

Read. Put her in her bed, dim the lights, give her some water and read some books, soon enough she will be drifting off to sleep.
OR
Take her for a drive, that sometimes makes kids fall asleep.

And other then wearing her out with actives i'm out of ideas. You could also try that baby bedtime bath stuff? Maybe that will calm her down a little.

I just left a daycare where I worked for 2 and 1/2 years. I learned a lot about how to calm down children. I know these parents who buy Johnsons bathtime wash in lavander scent. It is supposed to relax children. Then I would let her go play something calm in a room with the lights dimmed. You could put something she likes on t.v. or you could play some soft relaxing music. I really think this will help.

i agree with the daycare thing. my baby went from NEVER sleeping to now that he has a set schedule and a full day he's practically ready for dinner & bed the second we walk through the door. and after he runs around outside gets his bath, he's on a hunt for his blankie. since daycare might not be an option try gettin her up at a set time everyday.... mine get up around 7. then make a set scedhule, breakfast play time, errands, lunch story nap, snack, play time etc.... and end the night with bath, and story in a rocking chair. or swing in the backyard.

everytime my 15month old gets in the baby seat on the swing set he instantly starts to calm down and his eyes get heavy.

couldnt hurt to try the animal cracker thing too.

OK well you might want to try to give her a earlier nap time. like 10 or 11 am. that gives her a longer time to play and get tired. also about an hour before bed maybe sit down and read to her and give her enough time to calm down.

Play a walk/run exercise game about 2 hours before bedtime. Then give her a nice warm bath.
Hopefully that might relax her and she'll be ready to count stars(with her eyes closed)
Of course YOU'LL be the one "walking" because YOU'LL probably "tire out" before she will.
:)
Also you might let her "help" do minor chores around the house.
Some little ones like to "help" because it makes them think they're "grown up".

It's probable to pay lots of time and income looking for approaches to show your young ones how to see and boost their studying skills. Is difficult to teach a small child how to learn, and also attractive them to see is challenging in itself. But it does not need to be this way since you got the aid of the program https://tr.im/uXczZ , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you can train your son or daughter how to separate looks and separate words into phonemes, an important thing whenever your child is simply learning how to spell.
The examining process from Children Learning Reading program makes it easy for kids to learn easily and properly, from simple phrases to sentences until they understand to learn stories.
