My niece has a thing of when she wants out of her car seat or wants to see something out of range, she'll pull her arms out of the straps to see. I'm worried because when my mom takes her places, she's afraid to be pulled over. The kid is almost four years old, about 26-27 pounds and 34-35 inches high. I know it's not time to take her out of a toddler's car seat, but is there any solution to keep arms in?

I am watching my niece and I put her down for a nap around 3-3:30 and it is now a quarter till 7 and she has been sleeping this whole time about 3-3 and a half hours. Is this normal?

Not sure if this is unusual or not...or if it's anything worth noticing even. I know a young boy he can't keep his hands away from his face. Is it normal for children to pick at their faces? Could it mean anything? It just struck me as odd. He also holds his thumbs out very often, like he's looking for a ride or something. Are these just unusual habits or what? It's not troublesome or anything, just curious behavior to me.

She's ten months old. Sometimes I can change it peacefully but most of the time, it's a struggle. I heard that this is normal. Is it? And how long will it last?

Hi My middle daughter is 4 years old and she has been fully dry since she was about 2 and a half, but recently she has taking to peeing herself. She knows she is doing it because she will stop what she is doing and like squat and pee in her clothes and then make a fuss when I try to clean her up. She also has started peeing at night again as well and he bed has been wet every night for about 2 weeks and last night i let her into mine (was her mommys night out) so I let her in my bed with me and we were reading a story and she just lay in the bed and peed in her pjs, she didnt even move or say she needed to she just lay there and peed the bed. I am at my wits end with it, its driving me crazy because I dont know why she is doing it and I can understand what her problem is. I have an appointment booked with my dr, but because I want her to see a female dr and there is only one at my practice she has to wait two weeks mean while she is continuing to pee herself.
Help
VERY FRUSTRATED

I have a 5 1/2 year old daughter & an almost 2 year old son.. My daughter & him have been bathing together since he could sit up in the tub. They love playing together & there hasn't been any "questions" because we've always been up front with our children from the get-go that girls have vaginas & boys have penis'. It's just how our bodies are made... Nothing has ever seemed abnormal to me, but my friend tells me the other day that they are too old to be bathing together & it was disgusting.. Is this true? When are they too old?

My toddler has been having diarrhea off and on for about 2 weeks now. She is not running a fever, and she is not vomiting. She seems to be in good spirits, and doesn't act like her belly hurts. I have tried to cut some of the dairy out of her diet, and switched to lactose free milk- just to see if that made a difference. It doesn't seem to have done anything one way or the other. She does have about 4 teeth coming in right now, and I know that sometimes leads to diarrhea, but I am a little concerned just the same. We go to the doctor next week for her 18 mth checkup, so I'll mention it then. Just thought I would see if anybody had any suggestions! Thanks!

I have a thoughtful question. My neice is almost four years old, and doesn't seem to know what pain is or that is can seriously hurt. She can hit you over and over while you tell her it hurts, she tries to stab people with forks/pencils etc. when we tell her it'll kill us (or make us go bye-bye and never see us again), but she just keeps on. Her mom brought her two week old brother over two days ago and we told her not to hurt him, and the next second while I was holding him, she threw a huge shoe in his direction trying to hit him with it. Of course, I held him out of the way. Then her mom mentioned about another child with a similar problem, Tristan. He had held a kitchen knife to my cousin's neck when he wouldn't give him cookies before bed, and did the same thing to his baby brother. Can anyone tell me this condition? Or is it even a condition? Please, I want to get her help before she starts school

My son turned three in Feb. He has no interest in using the potty. He doesn't tell me when he's peed, or pooped. He doesn't even acknowledge the potty. He cries when I make him sit on it. I've tried switching him to regular underwear and he just pees and poos in it and doesn't care. He doesn't care that he's wet, so I'm frusterated. He doesn't want treats or toys, or stickers. Nothing has worked. Please help! I've cried because this is soo incredibly frusterating. I've potty trained my other son and daughter without this problem. He goes through 10 pairs of underwear a day.

I used to say that when girls grow older they talk a lot, nag and get more aggressive while the boys that grown up to be men are quieter, calmer and very serious, quite different when they were young. Am I right? Is there a basis for my assumption that you are aware of?

My husband works swing shift and when he is home at night she never wants to get in bed with me. However he is on third shift this week and has snuck into my bed every night. Well last night she woke me up at 2:15 and cried and threw fits for 2 hours and refused to get in bed. I tried many times to put her back in bed and talk to her. She has no problem going to bed at bedtime just staying there all night. I asked her what was upsetting her and she said a couple different things like bad dreams or she heard a noise. Anyone have any ideas on keeping her in bed?
