I just got a job offer after 3 weeks of job search, however it involves late nights.How do I take care of my 6 year old son?Anybody else in a similar predicament?
His father is out of the country on an assignment and I have no other family here.

Find good inhome care or search there are some daycares out there that do 24 hour care, but very few. Maybe you should try to find another job? I know that is not easy but if you cannot find the best care for your child...

Do you have a friend who could look after your son, either at their home or your home?. Maybe a friend can recommend a reliable babysitter. Apart from that, you could contact a registered babysitting service, who are by the way usually expensive. Make sure you make personal contact with whoever will be minding your son and obtain references.

There are 24-hour daycares around. Check your yellow pages, ask other parents. Ask a nurse... They work weird shifts!
Also, look into hiring someone (a college student?) who can come to your house and just "be there" since you son will probably just be sleeping most of that time, anyway. You just need someone to give him dinner and put him to bed, right? Or stay with him overnight?

There are many overnight nanny services. And sitters willing to stay up the later hours. it may cost a little more but there are services available. Always check for references though and use a creditable agency.

oh sweetie...what a trail this must be for you!
i know how hard it is to leave your little one.
is it a job that perhaps you can make arrangements to bring your child? my boss allowed me to do this, or do you have the names of reliable evening daycare? you can always trade off sitting with a friend, you watch hers during the day and she watches yours at night.

get a hold of your local social services they should have a list of state registered daycare.
