I have tried putting him to be earlier/later but it doesn't work. He has always been an early bird. But it would be nice for him to sleep in sometimes.

I had the same prob. Give him a digital clock and tell him he cant get out of bed until the 6 turns in to an 8 or something like that. Tell him he can look at books or play with his action figures quietly. And if he does this only once but it will happen someone special will call as a reward. I did the blue power rager and had my guy friend sound like him! it was priceless and it worked!

good luck!

You may just have an early bird. My oldest son has always been like that.... he's 8 now and still up at the butt crack of dawn regardless of what time he went to bed the night before. My 4 year old on the other hand was always the same way until recently when he started sleeping later.

Unfortuneately there is not much you can do, all kids have an internal clock that wakes them up, and 6am is not unheard of.... sounds like my son! What I did that helped though, was I got him to the point that even if he woke up at 6am, he would entertain himself in his crib, then his bed, until it was a more reasonable hour... it would buy me up to an extra hour of sleep sometimes! I just always kept his favorite stuffed animals, a few books and a sippy cup of water, and he would talk away, but be happy in his bed, until i came and got him. When he got a bit older (3 or so) I put a digital clock in his room and told him he could not get out of bed and get mommy until the clock read 7:00. It worked great, you just have to be consistant. Good luck!!

Who knows really. Sometimes they just get in a pattern. my daughter was doing that for a while and finally broke it about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It could be something that goes on at that time. Sunlight hits the room, dog wakes up and wanders in, or a certain loud vehicle passes outside the window every morning at that time. It could truly be anything, but I would guess it is just a cycle. All of my kids went through similar cycles. You may just need to wait it out. You can try this book. It may have the answer. My wife lives by these books. She says they have been extremely helpful with stuff like this.

Increase his activities durning the day.

Don't let him drink anything atleast 11/2 hours before bed (maybe he needs to use the bathroom or his pull up is wet)

When he wakes up don't rush to him right away or you can always put him in your bed(not a good habit but it works) so he will go back to sleep.

My 4 year old does this. I still haven't found anything that works. Only difference is at least now when she does she will just turn on her tv and watch tv until she gets hungry. My 2 year old on the other hand comes and wakes me up. I would just say grin and bare it....it gets easier.

He'll need to be up early for school soon anyways.

If you have a husband, alternate sleep in days.

That is what I do on the weekends with my 8 month old, up at 7am.

MY DAUGHTER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, UNTIL SHE STARTED SCHOOL, NOW ITS BRUTAL GETTING HER UP IN THE MORNING!!! FOR MY LITTLE GUYS, I FILL UP THEIR BELLY, AND GIVE HIM THEM A WARM BATH AT NIGHT.

FOR ME ITS A LITTLE DIFFERENT, CONSIDERING I HAVE TO BE TO WORK @ 7AM... ON THE WEEKENDS MY 1 1/2 YR OLD IS PRETTY GOOD ABOUT SLEEPING IN UNITL 6:30-7AM.... MY 6 & 4 YR OLD SLEEP UNITL 7-7:30... AND MY 6 MO OLD IS UP AT 5:30.... NO MATTER WHAT!!! :)

HOPE YOU FIND THE "REAL" SECRET!!! GOOD LUCK!!

Don't let him sleep during the day. If you do, no more than a half hour. Keep him up later.
