I have a 3 year girl. I love her dearly. She will not listen to you what so eva. If We ask her to pick up her toys she runs out of the house. Once we catch her. We tell her this frase exactly-We are goiung to make you sit in the corner for 5 min. Because you ran away. And when we pick her up and carry her over there she kicks us and punches us and she call's me a *****. I do not know where she got that word from because me and my husband do not sware in front of her. We do spank her when she call's us that. But not so hard it leave's a mark. Then it is abuse. Now like the other day she colored and painted on the white wall in the hall-way. And we told her not to before. So when she did that we spanked her harder then when she swares. But it dose not leave a mark. Now what should I do? How do I control her? HELP?

My daughter is 4 half years old and everytime she goes over to my moms house (grandmas) she gets everything she wants. I mean everything. She will go through walmart buy her candy and snacks clothes, and still buy her a barbie and a doll if she wants it. She's completely spoiled when shes over there. If my mother doesnt give into what she wants she throws a huge fit. Lately I think my mom has been trying to persuade her to come live with her. Out of no where the other day when my mom calls shes like adrianne said she wants to come live with me. I let her take adrianne overnight last night because i was planning on getting her back so we could do 4th of july stuff together and they could do it the day before..but now my mother just texted me saying adrianne said she wants to stay 3 days with me....ill call you in a few days. How do i quit competing with granny and make it to where my daughter does want to come home???! Shes never told me to my face or over the phone she doesnt want to

Have just been shopping for new clothes for my daughter who is only 15 months old.... was looking at summer stuff in size 2 and lots of it is midriff tops, hotpants, mini skirts etc. I am no prude but this bothers me, why can't little girls look like little girls, rather than teenagers out looking for their first boyfriends??!! what do you think?

This is just a little quote/humor I thought I'd share with moms.

i have a beautiful 3-year-old niece that i see quite often, like every couple weeks. and everytime i visit my sister to help with something or to drop something off, i see my niece who runs and gives me a big hug and says something cute. there were a few years that i was not able to see her because of my living quarters (i was in johnstown, pa going to school and she lives in wheatland, pa. its a 3 hour trip both ways). anyways, i ask her to point to her mother when i say 'wheres mommy?'. she points to her and says 'mommy'. i do the same thing with her two brothers (ages 14 years and 11 months), again she points and says their names. the same with ehr father, babysitter, and grandmother. shell seldom say my girlfriends name. in all her life, i think shes only mentioned my name 5 times. when i ask her who i am or whats my name, she draws a blank. usually it results in me telling her.

yes i know it seems like im whining, lol, but what do i do?

I'm afraid for my son to get his one-year vaccinations. I know they said that they took the preservative out of vaccines that were supposedly causing autism back in 1999, but there are videos on youtube that show children after one year turn into totally different people that were dx with autism. When I asked one particular lady about what may have caused it (I knew about the vaccines but didn't mention it) she said what I had feared... that she believed that her son's autism was caused by his vaccination. Has anyone else experienced this? She said that right after his first birthday, there was a steep declination of speech and wanting to be held.

My husband and I just found out we are having a boy. We are so excited because we were really hoping for a boy. :) I was wanting to do something a little more creative for his room. Something more than the typical themes you see at walmart, target, etc. Do ya'll have any ideas? Does anyone know any good websites for themes?

He is 21 months old and he constantly points to my freckles and says, "Poop! Ew gross!". I tell him a million times a day they are freckles not poop. I know he understands me and he's normally a fast learner. Is he just doing this to irritate me? He's very serious when he says it.

My niece just turned 2, and she is talking in complete sentences, up to 8-10 words long. ("I want you to take my shoes off please!") She is very good with figuring out tenses, pronouns and sentence structure, and her ability to communicate well has made her somewhat lazy, since she is very clear with most of her ideas.

My sister and I are having trouble getting her to say the "L" sound, and don't want her to develop bad habits since she seems to be talking very well, very early. If we exaggerate the "L" with our tongues too much, she exaggerates too, sticking her tongue out and falling over the rest of the word.

Is it a matter of just stopping and correcting her with every "L" until she gets it right, even if it's exaggerated? Are there any songs (other than Deck the Halls) that have a good "L" sound for her to practice with, so she can have fun practicing without getting frustrated? Thanks in advance for the help!

My daughter seperated with her husband 3 years ago, my son in law moved 9 hours away and see his children maybe once a month. When he doesn't get his way, like the food that he likes, he gets very angry and refuses to eat. He tells his mom that it's her fault if his dad is not with them and calls her bad name.

couple of times but now every time his father or I have use the bathroom he comes in running saying he has to go to so we sit him on his potty and he will just pretend to go and then be done. Is this a sign we really need to be working with him more? We haven't been pushing him so far since he's is only 2 but he is a smart little guy. Also, he is home 2 days with me or his dad, then 2 days at daycare and 1 day with Grandma a week. What is a routine we can all get into to get him started going potty?

It is the strangest thing. She will be eating just fine and then she decides to take all of her chewed food and just spits it out. It has become so bad that my husband thinks I should take her to the doctor. I think it is just a phase and that there isn't a medical condition because when it is something she likes she has no trouble swallowing. Sometimes she will eat two or three cookies and then just take and chew the fourth one and then spit it out. There isn't any one thing that makes her spit, it is completely random. It makes such a mess. She is very stubborn and even though I am telling her not to do it she still does. My only concern is that she is on the light side (20 pounds) and my husband is convinced she has something wrong with her (worried loving daddy) because our other kids were quite chubby by this age. Any ideas on how to get her to swallow her food?? Thanks in advance!

I hear that the school my children will be attending is really bad about if you don't have the right brand name clothing they make fun of you. My husband went to this school so that is how we know this. We do like to dress our kids in nice clothing. But we usually get a mix of brand name and cheaper clothing. My son is heading into headstart this year. My question is do children this small actually realize what brand other children are wearing or am I worring about it too much? I had a rough childhood in school and I want only the best for my children!

Our first child was easy going, never fussed, had tantrums or thrived on chaos. Our 15th month old son is very intelligent for his age & what I like to call "spirited". He is in to everything, despite babyproofing. He knows exactly what to do to get a rise out of people & grab all the attention. He intentionally does things that are a "no-no" & gives you that rotten little smile & evil laugh while he does it! He is always on the go, into something & bursting with energy. He's a wonderful loving toddler until he gets mad
My concern is that when things don't go his way he tantrums. He'll throw himself on the floor, kick, scream, throw anything in reach, hit anything in reach & headbutt the floor or wall or what ever he can. Like I said, I never had this "lovely" experience with my first born! Of course he stops headbutting when he hurts himself, but it still bothers me. He has a bad temper. I try to avoid situations that cause this. How can you train/discipline a 15 month old for this

He uses it about 3 nights a week and falls asleep in 5 minutes. About 5 minutes after that I go in and take it and he doesnt notice. I am throwing it out the day after his birthday because we agreed he is too old for it. I feel bad taking it from him because I know it soothes him and it really isnt that big a deal to me if he has it 10 minutes out of the day. Am I wrong to take it from him?
