My baby is so stubborn. She only wants to drink warm milk with cereal in it or cornmeal porridge, she only eats a few real foods. When I try to feed her she only takes a few nibbles. Someone please help!!!! My Dr. says just take the bottle away period. But when I do that we have a stand off she still won't eat and just cry of hunger pains.

I have a two and half years old kid, who is not talking as he should be. He started babbling since his 9 months but no senceful sound. Only since last week, he started saying words like papa, mama, dada, nana, gogo etc... if we ask him to say these words. He is spending five hours a day for all weekdays with therapists, that is provided by the Early intervenation program of regional centre. He is making sound and I know eventually he will talk after sometime, but we are having hard time to attract him towards us. Can anyone tell me some ways, to attract him, or to make him to look at our face, so that he will learn language faster.

He does not have any other symptom of autisim, except language delay. We have evaluated his vision and hearing and all are fine. He is very affectionate and loves to be hugged and curdled with us. We have evaluated for autisim and its not the case.

Any suggesion will be appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

I teach the Crawlers class at a daycare. I'm trying to come up with a cute survey for new parents to fill out. So far, I have favorite color, favorite cartoon character, favorite sports teams (college and pro), favorite song, book and their pet's name. Obviously, the kids are too young to care about any of that, but I thought it would be a cute survey for the parents to fill out for them. What are other cute questions I could ask?

I was just wondering what other people's opinions are about this. I have an almost 16 month old daughter. I know that watching TV at this age isn't recommended, and she really doesn't watch TV. However, she has been showing interest in Sesame Street. Do you think it's alright for her to watch some Sesame Street in the morning for a little while and maybe on some other occassions?

My son just turned 3 a few weeks ago. He knows how to pull his pants (and underwear) up and down. But he doesn't know how to button or zip his pants. Therefore, we always have to put him in pants or shorts with an elastic waist.

He has no idea how to put a shirt on. He can't put socks on. But he can put his shoes on (20% of the time he puts the shoe on the wrong foot).

At what age do kids figure this stuff out? Should I be teaching him how to do this?

Thanks.

He gets so angry when he doesn't get his way & he either hits me or throws things at me when he's mad and I'm tired of it! Time-out seems to only anger him further and spanking hasn't worked either. I don't want to beat my child. I want to make a lasting impression with the punishment, not a harmful one.

When and How did you wean your toddler off the bottle? My daughter is 15 months old and her doctor thinks its a good time to start weaning her off to a sippy cup. She hates sippy cups and it's hard for me to get her to use one. She'll just turn the cup over, and watch the juice drop out of the top. She'd much rather drink from her bottle. Any suggestions?

Our daughter at one point was a great sleeper, and would sleep through the night. That is no longer the case! For the past month or two she's been waking up every night at least once, typically around 2 or 3am. She wakes up screaming for chocolate milk (which her father has gotten her addicted to), and keeps screaming until she's gotten it. I offer water, but that is quickly rejected. The last few nights she's woken up wanting to get up and play at 3am, and takes a good half an hr to an hr to settle back down. The only way to get her to fall back asleep is to give her a sippy cup full of chocolate milk. I'm getting to be pretty cranky in the morning when it's time to get up and go to work as I'm just exhausted, and I'd really like for this to stop. I just dont think it's a good idea to 'give in' and get her in the habit of having milk in the middle of the night but my husband doesnt think it's a big deal to give her milk... and she DOES go to sleep after. Should we try something else?

Hey everyone...I know, I know she should already be off the bottle. BUT..I do have a plea...I have Kacey (20-months) and Matti (6 months) they are 14 months apart...and so..I can't just make the bottle disappear because her sister still gets them. I am exhausted enough as it is..so it has been a sleeping aid for HER and ME!!! But I know she needs to be off of it ASAP! Any suggestions?! THANKS!

I am 25 weeks pregnant with a little girl.
Many many many friends and co-workers are GIVING me items.
Free crib, changing table and TONS of clothes.

I just had my dad's co-worker drop off 5 bags of 0-4T clothes, gently used.

My dressers are full, and don't have room to store everything for 4 years.

What can I do? Donate the larger sizes or take to consignment??

My house is only so big.

I have been babysitting the same little boy for over a year now and hes been acting really bad lately.
Today in about a 30 minute time period he
*spilled ketchup all over the floor
*over flowed the tub
*peed all over this bedroom carpet. and then also played in it.. ewww (hes been potty trained for over a year)

I told his mom about him peeing all over and she said yea boys do that, I was like oh ok. she thought it was funny.

Should he be doing all this..
He has done this before where he peed on the couch and I was telling him it was wrong and he shouldn't ever do it and his dad walked in and was very upset and made him go to bed early.

Like what am I suppose to do...
should boys his age be doing this????

My daughter is almost 9 years old. She usually goes up to bed with me at night and we watch TV or read until we fall asleep. My husband doesn't usually go to bed when I do, and she doesn't bother either one of us. She isn't afraid to sleep in her room at all. If I tell her to go in her own room, she is fine with it, she does. If my husband and I want to watch a movie or hang out alone, she's also fine with that. We just tell her that we don't want company tonight. When she has friends over, she sleeps in her room.
Since we are all OK with it, is this healthy? I have friends who tell us we're crazy. Our sons kinda slept with us alot when they were small too...just not as much as her. They seem to have turned out perfectly normal.

OK heres my story:
i live in military housing on base (similar to an apartment complex almost.) anyway there are parks like every 3-4blocks.

i took my 26month old to play and there's 10kids unsupervised and clearly not all related. ages ranging 3-10yrs old.
my child was almost pushed off the slide by a lil boy prolly around 6 he called her a stupid baby and just pushed her. tjhis slide is high up as its like a jungle gym and u clim some steps and theres a platform and and a small slide the one she was going to go down and more stairs to the bigger slide.
then once off that she was walking and another lil boy about 5-6 pushed her and started laughing "look the baby fell haha"

i said something both times and all i get was blank stares...
theres not a way 2 see where they live to tell the parents even tho i threathened i would if they didnt stop. btw im 35wks pregnant

my question is doesnt anyone watch their children anymore or teach them manners? not saying all dont tho.

i'm afraid she'll slam her head into the floor... when you hold her or holding your hand she tries to throw herself back when she's tired... i'm afraid she'll hurt herself...
