the naughty spot works place them on a chair or cut out a piece of black rubber matting place them on there how long for depends on how old the child is in which case 1 - 3 years of age which means between 1 and three minutes place a timer in front of the child and explain to the child that once the timer goes off then they can come off the mat and play or whatever , remember a hug afterwards.

This is the training they need that will set them for the rest of your lives together. You have to pick a process now and stick to it. Don't be a stern parent and after 5 min. of yelling give in. Use time out and make it stick. 1 min. per age. If you take something away don't just give it back to make the child quit crying. You are the parent the child learns from you. If you only do what pleases your child you will do this the rest of your life. And teach them manners with rewards. My son now 6 was commented on how wonderful his behavior was in public places. You can do this model your children after you. And never do things your mother did that you hated.

So, is your child 1, 2, or 3? Cognitive abilities at those ages are radically different - discipline for a 1 yr old is / should be total different from that of a 3 yr old.
