My 2 year old has very strange sleep patterns. I've really tried everything I can think of.
The staying up until 4 a.m. just started this last week or two but she can easly stay up until midnight or 1.
I will sometimes deprive myself of sleep and wake up early on the mornings after she's pulled an all-nighter just to wake her up early. However, she can outlast me anyday.
Let's say she stays up until 1 a.m. (very regular occurance). I will then wake up at 7 or 8 the next morning and wake her up at that time as well. By about 2 in the afternoon she is VERY tired and by 3 or 4 she is almost unbearable to be around. But still...no sleeping.
She will easily fall asleep right around dinner time (6 p.m.) but only to wake up at 9 or 10...then she's ready for another all-nighter!
We have a regular nightly routine with bath and some books. Does anyone else have any more ideas on how to get her to sleep on a more regular schedule. I have 3 other girls but they never had sleep issues.

At my daughter's daycare, they spend the whole afternoon outside, even when it hits triple digits on the thermometer. This can't be good for the kids, even if they play in shaded areas.

Though I'm planning to bring her to the pediatrician, is it normal to feel pain when being washed? I also noticed my one year old baby daughter to be like her, pulling away from me when I'm washing her there.

I have been letting him wear his underwear during the day and putting on the overnight diapers at night. Just got him the potty chair of elmo he likes it but won't tell me when he needs to go and I ask him every 5 minutes if he needs to go. So far he has been wetting and dirtying his underwear. I don't know what else to do it fustrating for me and him so I hope someone will know what is the easiest way of doing this so I can start putting him in headstart because I hear he has to be potty trained. Thank you for your time and answers muchly appreciated.

My son, Dylan, turned two a few weeks ago and for about two months he has been taking off his diaper in his crib. He won't leave it on for anything, even pull-ups. He pees and falls asleep in it. I check on his so much and end up having to change his sheets a few times a day because of it. Can anyonne give me any suggestions on what to do. We are learning about the big boy potty, but i can't potty train him by nap time today!

My son is 2 1/2 and is now ready to potty train! He is my first so i need help here. Here are my questions:

1. How often do i need to take him to the potty?

2. How long do we sit there to see if he will pee or poop?

3. Is there ways to get him to pee or do i just need to let nature run its course with him?

4. How should i reward him when he does pee?

If you can give me any other information i need to know i would SO GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! Im 25 and i want other women who have already been through this to answer please. Not no young tarts with no kids, they wouldnt know! Sorry but its true!

Like i said, he is my oldest son and then i have a 7 month old son as well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Me and my boyfriend were babysitting him because my parents had to take my other two younger brothers somewhere. My 4 yr old brother was talking to my boyfriend alot, then when everyone came back home, and me and my boyfriend had to go out he started crying. He does it all the time when my boyfriend's around then when he has to go he gets very upset.

I'm constantly baby sitting a 2 Y.O and I have alot of my old "see spot run books" every so often she'll pick them up and read them, not make up stories actually read the sentences. I was wondering if it's healthy for her or should I stop it?

Ugh. We went to a splash park on Friday and by Monday, my 15 month old broke out in a rash that looks like chicken pox - but the pediatrician said its a 'nonspecific allergic reaction'. Im going to guess she is sensitive to the chlorine in the water - so... what over the counter products can I use on her to make the rash go away faster? (The pediatrician didnt reccommend anything because my hubby took our baby to the doc and forgot to ask.)

Im only 8 but yesterday my big sis babysat me she is 14. And my twin sister and i went at the pool when she told us not too. When we came home she pulled me to her knee set me on her lap and spanked me 3 hard wacks after she told me to go sit in the corner and did the same thing to my twin. We were spanked bare bottom. My parents told her she's aloud to spank us and punish us if we are bad. I still love her. But now i always obey her. Do you think i deserved it?

My son is 9 months old. He was nursed and then switched to a playtex drop- in's wide nipple nurser.
I have tried a few different sippy cups and my son has a hard time learning to suck on the hard plastic. An associate at BabiesRus told me to use the Nuby sippy cup that starts out with a nipple and then can be switched to a softer plastic sippy cup spout. My son is having a hard time even learning to suck off the Nuby nipple because its not like his fomula bottle nipples. Do i just need to keep at it, and in a few days will he get it, or should I try something else? Thanks!

p.s. if i stick his nurser nipple into the Nuby cup he will suck..but i dont want him to confuse the two...so I know its not the cup itself that he doesn't like.

My son originally wanted his room in monster trucks. now he wants monster trucks AND sports. (and he mentioned race cars, too) We were looking at bean bag chairs and he saw the cute baseball and basket ball ones now he says he wants (and I quote) "monster trucks, race cars, basketballs, baseballs, footballs, ya know-all the cool stuff."
How can I put it all together and look good? Or should I persuade him to stick with one theme? He is pretty easy going so he would probably be ok with that, but I want him to help me come up with the ideas ....

Is it okay for a 9 year old girl to still use diaper wipes, watch Treehouse on television, and to still have accidents? I know this is a weird question but I am very worried about my cousin! What do you think?

When i found yahoo answers i was like wow maybe i can get some great parenting advice from other parents. I have found that everytime i ask a question and i am really seeking advice or opinions. I get bombarded with YOU ARE whats wrong and you need to be a better mom. and its YOUR fault . I realize no matter where you chat online you are going to run into so childish people but what bothers me is how old some of these people are that are judging me. Being a young mother the last thing i want to hear is how bad of a mother i am and what a lousy job im doing. Maybe this is what causes young parents to just give up all this criticism instead of just the occasional booster or hint of advice I want to know what gives you ( these horrible people) the right to be so hateful and mean?

my 19 month old to quit being sooo bad? He is a bully. He pinches, bites, and pulls hair. No one tells him to do it. He starts out friendly. Like for instance, he'll start by hugging and kissing you and when you least expect it he'll pull your hair. I dont know how to stop him. I tell him No firmly, and so does my husband. But it doesnt work. My 5 year old doesnt like playing with little brother because of the way he is. What should I do?

We just got a new place and it is already ruined. My daughter is out of control. No matter what I keep up high or lock up she still finds a way to get into everything. She spills everything. She screams and yells and throws fits. She hits and kicks. She refuses to stay in the kitchen with her cups and food so my carpet is ruined. She stays up until 2 in the morning (even when she doesnt take naps) and she wakes up early. She will not sleep in her own room. The neighbors think I beat her because she is always throwing fits and yelling. And she is always hurting herself so she gets bruises. I CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE! And I am about to lose my job because no one will watch her because she is so out of control. And I cannot afford daycare or anything like that. And I could put her in time out and spank her *** all day long and she doesnt care. It doesnt phase her. I NEED HELP!!

My three year old has started stating the obvious - such as, "that lady has big boobies" (friends mom came over in a super lowcut shirt) or "that man has red skin" (totally sunburnt guy at pool) or "that boys not wearing his bike helmet" always in earshot of the person he's talking about, any tips on what my/his dad's response should be - in 3 year old terms?

In each case he's correct, and nothing offensive, and he understands people dont all look the same, but some may not take it that way. Basically trying to teach a 3 year old tact and manners.
