I'm constantly baby sitting a 2 Y.O and I have alot of my old "see spot run books" every so often she'll pick them up and read them, not make up stories actually read the sentences. I was wondering if it's healthy for her or should I stop it?

No definitely don't stop it!!!! Encourge it till the cows come home. My son who is now 7 was reading at 2 yrs of age as well. Keep reading to her yourself and slowly introduce other types of books as well. It is fantastic to hear that our young generation are developing so rapidly. Grasp this by the horns and run with it as far as you can go, she will be quite well read by the time she enters school which will be a big help to her as there are some children in the school system who are falling behind because they can't read. Congratulations to her, you and her parents.

She may have memorized the words that go with the pictures. My sister did that at a very young age and we were shocked and excited. Then we realized if we covered the pictures she couldn't read the words. Either way memorizing the words or actually reading that seems to be very advanced for a 2 year old.

Why would you ever want to stop her reading on her own. The fact that she's only 2 and can do it is quite amazing. She should be tested for being gifted.
It could be that she just has the books memorized but even that kind of memory is pretty good.

she probably memorized the stories, but if she can read them that is great! you should put the same sentences from the book onto a blank sheet of paper and ask her to read it. If so then you know that she really does recognize the words and can possibly read. Either way she sounds pretty smart.

are you a first father ? if so maybe you shouldnt worrying so much for youre child , if youre kid is so smart i bet she can learn to read those words first time her life. and it alright for any young children her ages able pick up a book and start reading herself. maybe you can sit next to her and listen to her ever bit of her words that she might need to spell out or even learn how to write . i have a 21/2 half year old neice and she cant read yet but she loves looks all the pictures in her books . but she can talk and say alot of words that sound amazing that she had learned from school like cat , dog . or even say poopy head and she start laughing about it what she said . lol. but i would try get her some easlier reading books with animals on it. or even get her osme noises and sounds music books that she can hear and say them like the farm animals . yes it healthy for any children thats getting older and younger ages.

She probably memorized the stories. If I change a word out in a book (and he has quite a library of books) - my little boy would tell me I said the wrong word
at three. Example - I'd say excellent - and he'd say - it says successful... he can't read it- he just has an amazing memory.
It is great that she is stretching her mind!

Some parents are overacheivers and therefore they force their children to do the same. Its called too much time on their hands. However, if the girl is reading for real, then don't discourage her. She just gets to have a more different experience in life than children that are allowed to be kids. Encourage this child to play outside more now, that way she can actually develop an imagination and that will make the reading more enriching for her.

For heavens sakes don't stop it. Whether she has only memorized the book or is actually reading it, both are very good signs of intelligence at that age.

It's amazing if she can already read! A lot of smart kids around that age can memorize the stories they love word-for-word and recite them. Whatever the reason, don't discourage her from reading, or trying to read! Children should be encouraged to read at ANY age.
