Did you mean the babysitter is 11 years old? Or that the babysitter had 11 years experience with kids?
An 11 year old can watch a smaller child for an hour or two at most. Then the novelty wears off and they dont do such a good job anymore. Most 11 year olds still have babysitters themselves.

How is an 11 year old "experienced"?
Shouldn't the 11 year old still need a babysitter.
In New York State any child under 12 can not stay home alone, much less watch other children for another family. What if a fire started, or one of your children badly cut themselves, an 11 year old wouldn't know what to do.
I suggest finding a sitter that is a little older (Like at least in high school).

There is no way I would hire an 11 year old babysitter. An 11 yo should still have a babysitter. She is not mature enough to handle an emergency. Does she know CPR? Has she taken Red Cross babysitting classes? If not, don't hire her.

I would not hire an 11 year old to watch my kids, no matter how experienced he/she is.
Personally, I wouldn't hire anyone under 16, but that's me.
If you're 11, and you're lucky enough to find someone willing to let you watch their kids, I'd charge 5-7/hr. You can't POSSIBLY have the experience to be worth 10/hr.
At 11, you're not legally old enough to get a job, even with a work permit, so really any income is good income.

i agree with jacobs mommy on the price...3-4 an hour for first child..1 dollar an hour each additional child...however i do NOT agree with the ones saying 11 is too young to babysit..if u feel she is mature for an 11 yr old..really does have experience watching children...and u trust leaving her alone with your child/children then 11 is just fine for babysitting age..i was 11 when i had my first babysitting job..its very good experience for them to learn to interact with smaller children..to prepare them for later when they have kids of their own...i am now an adult with 5 beautiful children..my oldest soon going in the marines..i feel babysitting back when i was 11 may have turned me into the warm caring mother i am today..so if u trust her then go with that..just always make sure she has emergency numbers close by...the person that answered this question and made the comment that she doesnt have cpr classes or anything..well neither do most mothers..ive never taken a cpr class and i have raised 5 children just fine..if u trust her give her a chance

I commonly get mothers and fathers giving me bonuses via fact I do such a super pastime mutually as not over charging. I babysit each form of a protracted time from a pair of days previous suited as much as ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds.

Sorry, but eleven is far too young to be watching a child. You're still a child yourself!! Why not try being a mother's helper? That way the mother is still in the house so if you need her she'll be right there, but she can still get some household chores done while you entertain the child. I would say 5 dollars an hour is good pay for a mother's helper.

I guess it depends on how many children the sitter would be watching. I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable with an 11 year old watching my son...anyway...
At 11 years old I guess I would expect to pay $3-$4 an hour for one child, and maybe up it $1 per hour for any additional children.

Well if you mean pay an 11 year old. I do not know an experienced 11 year old that I would trust with my children. They are children themselves.
