Just curious- I noticed that their eating habbits at home are not great (they eat fast food daily and the kids are allowed to eat what ever they choose, whenever.) Their mother also makes a HUGE deal over food i.e. how good it is, has to bring a special treat each day at pick up time or the kids throw a huge fit.

Yeah-that is HUGE!! My 3 1/2 year old weighs 31 lbs! and my 4 1/2 year old weighs 35 lbs. I know it all depends on height and body build but they have GOT to be overweight! Who is this? Is it someone you could talk to about these eating habits???

I just had a look at my kid's growth charts in their record book and it is grossly overweight. My 6 year old weighs just over 3 stone (42ish Lbs) and this was shown as normal in her health check at school. The average weight for a boy that age is 30lb and a 1 year old girl is 24lb according to this growth chart.

i think the one year old is ok
because as they start to get more active the weight will even out
but the 2 year old didnt even out in the 30 range so i dunno i would takl to the doc they dont put kids that young on diets or anything
so just get um movin more and off the fast food
best of luck
1year olds are usually between 20-30 pounds
2 year olds are usually between 30 -40

yes, 47 lbs. is WAY overweight for a 2 yr. old.
My step-son is 5 and he weighed around 45 lbs. and his dr. made him lose a few lbs. (after we found out he may have diabetes).
An average 2 yr. old should weigh 27-28 pounds.

My son is 3yr 8mos. old and weighs 42lbs -- and is 43'' tall. I'd say that's a little bit on the heavy side. And for a 1yr old to be 30lbs? They need to be on a serious diet before they develop health problems.

It does depend on their height . . but I'd have to say yes, that does sound like too high of a weight for toddler.
