Ice melts so he should be fine. It won't get stuck in his throat or anything. His throat might be scratchy or sore for a little while but he'll be fine.

If it was only an ice cube then he should be ok... If anything like this ever happens to anyone the worst thing you could do is panic. Even though they are young they still know when you are panicing and can make them worse. Call for help. For a four year old, try get them to cough, if not bend them over your knee with face closer to ground than stomach and use the bottom of your hand near your wrist to kind of slap his back but moving your hand at the same time from half way up his back to the top. Repeat this several times. You are trying to get the item that is stuck to come back up. Hope this helps... Learned this while doing my childcare course. Its part of infant and child CPR...

First, you need to learn the Heimlich maneuver, you should never pat a child on the back, it could lodge the object farther into their throats.
Unless he is complaining that his throat is VERY sore he will be fine. If he is crying or complaining that his throat is very sore then you may need to take him to be looked at to make sure that nothing was torn.

Once you got the ice cube and food out of his throat, he was OK. Choking happens sometimes in persons of all ages. Your prompt response helped the situation. So don't worry about him anymore, he is okay.

It's ice... he'll be fine unless you notice blood... this could mean that the ice had a sharp edge and cut something. If you notice any blood take him to the ER. Otherwise he'll be fine.

I am not trying to sound stupid, but doesn't ice melt? Anyhow you should not ask this kinds of questions here. Call a doctor or something.

Thats good he is ok now. No theres nothing you need to do as long as he is ok. That will probably be a lesson to him to not laugh and talk with his mouth full.
