my daughter that is going into six grade has had probably about 5 boyfriends in the last year and a half.
is this a bad thing and what should she look for in a guy!

i think that it is ridiculous for a 11 year old to have even had a boyfriend! do you want her pregnant by age 13? she shouldn't be "looking for a GUY"!!! it's a bad thing. don't you read the questions these kids ask? "i'm 10 and i'm pregnant?", or "my boyfriend wants sex, but i'm only 12"?
get a grip on the girl. so you let her date at age 10? good job, mom. and i use that term "mom" very loosely...
i don't mean to be mean, but this is the stupidest question ever.

I think you need to emphasize the "friendship" aspects of these relationships. Refer to her boyfriends as "her friend" and tell her that she is way too young to be worrying about boyfriends. Tell her that boys make the best friends sometimes and she is so lucky to have such a good friend. Invite her to go to a movie/mini golfing/the beach/church/etc. WITH YOU and ask her if she would like to invite her friend "Johnny" to go too. DON'T refer to it as a date. Remember they are KIDS. Stay close to protect them both from inappropriate behaviors and just encourage conversation, laughter, and good clean fun. Make sure that you are modeling appropriate behaviors, because she takes her social cues from you. This is a very vulnerable age as she is approaching adolescence. Don't allow her to rush into adulthood.

I wouldn't really say that it's a bad thing. I mean kids "going out" this young isn't really a big deal. It's really just being friends and calling it something else because they think it's cool. It's nothing to worry about until she gets about 13.

Teen age ( or any age girls ) girls hook up with any guy that looks good, has a nice car, has MONEY, any number of things. Just keep an eye on her and who she dates. Girls that young should not be looking for things in guys. not until at least highs school or late middle school.

At this age she should be focused on improving and finding her own self and her skills. She is not ready to date. Early dating is not good for girls. You need to help her work on her self esteem so that guys are not so important.

it's not bad that she's had 5 boyfriends. she should be looking for someone who's nice, cool, and funny.
