I am a provider in SE Iowa... the rates can vary so much that it's hard to give you an estimate. However, if you qualify for state subsidy (DHS paid day care) use it. If not talk to your Community Action Agency more specifically the CCR&R program within Community Action. They can set you up with more accurate estimates and also find a provider that would fit your needs. Most providers here charge about $15/day per one child.... I specifically charge private pay families $2.50/hr for the first child and $1 more an hour for each additional child.... or $15/day for 1 and $20/day for 2. But those are just my rates... I strongly urge you to check with Community Action... not only do they have the lists of providers that meet your needs, but all their providers are also put through extensive background checks and quite a bit of training.... here is a website also from CCR&R.... just enter your zip code and you should have more answers.
