They should have given you an anti-fungal cream, which truly is the only way to get rid of a ringworm. If the cream is not working then they need to prescribe a new cream because some treat the fungus better than others. Also, the oral medication should be an anti-fungal, because ringworm is a type of fungus. Good luck, I am sure it will go away with time and treatment!

My two year old has had them and we used over the counter athletes foot cream. Ringworm is a fungus just like athletes foot. Don't worry if it does not go away immediately, it takes at least a month.
There was a dog in the neighborhood spreading it like wildfire and the fungus was in the yards soil. Tell your kids to wear shoes and wash hands often. Ringworm seems to like to get into scratched mosquito bites as well. Good luck!

My son got a ring worm on his forehead when he was three when his filthy cousin scratched him leaving him a ringworm. Anyway I used something called Blue Star Ointment and it went away pretty quickly. It doesn't smell to good and is a little potent but it works.

there is an antifungal cream that will take this away, you can get it at any drug store, dont need to go to the doctor for it. ive never heard of taking an oral medication for ring worm. try the antifungal cream, and if that doesnt work, get a 2nd opinion because it may be something else. by the way, you would probably find the cream in the foot medication area in a drug store, as it works for foot fungus and ring worm, just make sure it says it treats ring worm on the package. and just another side note, i thought my daughter had ring worm when she was little too but it turned out to be an eczema rash, so if your daughter has eczema, it may be that.

does she have a sandbox or play in one at the park? She could be getting re-infected there. Ring worm comes from animal feces, any exposure to dirt or sand could have the ringworm in it. Good luck, I have a scar from a ringworm infection that took months to get rid of.

My child had one to when he was 9 months old. I just used jock itch/athlete's foot cream on it and it went away. Just follow the directions. It is safe for a 1 year old as long as they can't get it in their mouth.

I would try another dr. Because this is not normal. I am not saying anything you are doing is wrong because you are following the dr's orders but they should of been gone by now. Good luck and I am sorry your baby is going through this.
