My baby is one year old and into everything, I need to find a way of having the door open in the summer without her falling out of it or crawling though it, whatever I put in the gap, she is likely to lean on or pull. Are there any purpose made products, a stair gate is too narrow? Keeping the door shut all summer is not an option as it is the only ventilation in the room

We where at a play activity centre and I heard a mother say to her child, if a child hurts you say no and push them, she demonstrated shoving with 2 hands. I later saw the same child pushing over a little girl half his age/size. The mother asked did they push you first. My children are no saints but I try to teach them that aggression is not the answer no matter what others do to you. I was just wondering other peoples view on this?

My son is 29 months old, and he whines all the time, cries, and gets trantums. His father says he is spoiled, but I think he is being a "normal 2 yr old". At what age do children start to listen? I also don't like spanking at this age because I think they do not understand.

Suggestions....

She wont let me out of her sight period. If I can get her to play with a toy beside me, when I go to stand up, she's haulin' butt over to me crying like I'm about to leave her forever! I'm a stay at home mom, so we're together all day. There hasn't been any changes in our daily activity, so I dont understand why she's acting like she cant leave my side. ITS DRIVING ME NUTS! She pretty much whines all day now because she wants to be sittin' on my lap. I just let her cry most of the time, but when I cant handle anymore crying I hold her. Suggestions PLEASE.

My 3 year old has got so naughty and rude, between hitting, shouting madly and wrecking the house he has got my temper at boiling point, I'm running around like a mad man shouting and swearing which makes him even worse and its causing problems between me and my partner because we end up fighting, and to make matters worse my partner is due today with our second which is stressful enough without dealing with this.

How do you cope with a 3 year old devil because I can't very well at all, I can hardly sleep at night with the stress of it all.

You know how all the "health officials" are always saying that breastfed babies are almost always healthier. Well I have to argue that point. I could not breatfeed my son for health reasons and he has grown into a strapping 2 year old who is 3ft tall and 2st 10lbs. Yes he has been ill a few times with colds and an ear infection but that is all. Now my nephew has been breastfed since he was born and is now 10 months old and he has had more infections in his short life than I care to remember. He has now been diagnosed with hayfever. So explain that to me!!!

My son is almost a year old and he is unbelievably clingy. I can't walk out of a room without him crying and it's very hard for me to take a shower. Also, he won't sleep through the night. He doesn't want a bottle, he just wakes up and I have to reposition him to get him back to sleep. He won't sleep in his crib. If he falls asleep on the couch, when I take him up to his crib, he wakes up as soon as I lay him down. But if I put him in my bed, he'll stay asleep. Any suggestions from experienced moms?

Should I work and put my 2 kids in day care. They are only 1 or shall I stay at home until they are at least 11. I don't want to work but the money is great but Im scared I might loose my bond with my twins. My mum was a working mother and I always think if she was there and actually picked me up from school and took the time to look after me we would be closer. What do I do? And by the way with daycare costs for twins I have a feeling the money may just balance off

My daughter will be 3 in May. She is perfectly potty trained during the day. I am 3mo. pregnant and I want to night time train her this summer. She loves her juice before bed.(we only give her 1/4th of a sippy cup.) And she really doesn't seem interested in wearing panties at night. I think I am just going to put her in panties and go for it. Should I wake her at night when I am up potting? Any other suggestions?

I am trying to raise my son to be well mannered and respectful to other people... problem is my family keep telling me that I am being too hard on him (this even includes me expecting him to sit at a table until he has finished his dinner) and it sometimes seems as though they are encouraging him to disregard what I say in their presence. Anyone else had similar probs?

The other day I left my three kids at my in-laws for a few hours and when I came back, I found my 5 year old 'helping' grandpa push the lawnmower and my 2 year old standing just a few feet behind them. I told the in-laws and my husband that it's dangerous and I don't want my kids around lawn mowers and they said I was overreacting and being silly and that their kids were always around them and never got hurt. I know they'll abide by my wishes but am I being silly? I was under the impression that it's common knowledge not to have children around a lawn mower.
