My son is 3. For the past couple of nights, he does not want to sleep in his bed.

Usually, if he does not want to sleep in his bed, he wants to sleep in mine-- but that's not the case either..

He wants to sleep on the floor next to his bed....

When he falls asleep, I move him into his bed, and in the morning, he wakes up and goes back on the floor to 'finish sleeping'.

I dont think there is anything wrong with him, and I dont think that there is anything wrong with his bed.

Is this just a phase? Should I be worried for any reason??

I think that he's pretending he's a puppy, actually, because at the dinner table, he pretends he is a dog and/or cat when he is eating....

Also, how can I convince him to sleep in his own bed and not the floor?

I have a toddler and I am trying to find he clinical name or some information on this type of behavior. I know it's normal but just trying to find a good way to deal with it. I think it has something to do with them feeling safe and comfortable at home and being able to "let go".

my son is 13 months old and right now my dad watches him during the day, he's really good with him but I've noticed he is a little behind on certain things that other children are doing like walking, and talking...my co-worker has a 10 month old and he says all kinds of words...mine only says dada and sometimes mama. the walking part is sort of complicated..he will walk if you hold his fingers, but that is it.

My 13 month old son keeps getting stuck in his crib. He gets up after his nap and plays for a while in his crib before he cries. I don't know he's awake until he cries, but lately he's been getting his leg stuck on the side of the crib. I don't know how he does it but when I find him, his whole leg all the way up to his thigh is sticking out. It's a very painful process to get him out especailly since I have to figure out how he stuck his leg through in the first place. I don't want to twist it the wrong way or anything. Is there anything out there that can help with this problem? I know he's too young for a toddler bed, so I really don't know what to do.

I am a 17 year old in high school looking to be a summer nanny. I have 5 years of experience and currently care for a foster baby at my home. By summer I will have completed a First Aid and CPR Class for infants and children. I was wondering what I should charge hourly? Maybe if I could just have your opinion on what you would pay me =)

If I tell her no, which I do tell her no often, because at this age she is into everything and I want to teach her right from wrong, she gets so worked up and is crying and on the ground and if you try to pick her up she won't let you. Any tips on how to tell her no and avoid the whole tantrum that follows?

My kids 4 and 2 have been at this same daycare for a year...Lately it seems they have me on speed dial...And my kids were sick, but over every little thing they want him to go to the dr and get a return to school note...I undestand not wanting to get other kids sick also. My son was had a rash and was on antibiotics for a whole week - Then THEY noticed the rash, but had me pick him up and go get checked out again and a note saying he could be there....He had diaerra and I had to get him, Since diaerra is a symptom of a few things BUT its also a side effect of a new med he started! My daughter they had me take her to get a Drs note over chapped lips...They looked funky but they were chapped lips!
Is this normal...Also they dont want a kid there after 24 hrs after having a tempature...But they want a note from a Dr saying they cna return.....But a temp I can take that....

My son is going to be 2 in June. Anyway, lately he's been really bad for having fits. His latest is he drags me to the baby gate because he wants to goto the basement. NO idea why. It's messy and he NEVER goes down there. But everyday he has a fit to go down there, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Usually I just ignore his fit.. I try to get him busy with something and comfort him which does NOT work. But I don't give in and he eventually gives it up. But it's HARD. I want to give in just so he'll stop, but I got to tell myself no otherwise he'll have fits more often. How to others deal with fits?

Someone told me that Vitamin B-12 shots will help children to speak. Has anyone else heard this?

P.S. My son is 21 months and not talking...he's not lacking in anyother areas, and his Dr. is NOT concerned about autism.

My sister has a two year old little boy that I absolutely adore, yet he is kind of mischievous. I can’t bear to see him hit, but my sister gets very frustrated and screams and hits him in the hand or butt. I know that rules should be enforced but is he to young and is my sister being too hard on him.

I really would like to keep my son in the middle of the back seat for safety reasons (I fear getting hit from another car), but every morning on the way to daycare we drive toward the sun, which obviously bothers him. He's only 14 months, and won't keep sun glasses on. He doesn't understand that if he turns his head to the side and looks out the side windows, the sun is out of his eyes. In short of moving him to behind my seat, is there another solution?

What is with the people you see at the store or in public who, in cold weather or chilly weather, dress their children in onesies or short suits when they dress themselves in jeans and sweaters....I mean come on?!? If you are cold....this small child who's legs and arms are exposed is definitely freezing! Right or wrong?

When did your kids start going to the dentist? My son is on Medicaid in Missouri and his primary care physician recommended he begin going to the dentist. I have heard that starting a child at one year of age is a good idea. However, when I called my Medicaid provider for my son, they informed me that he should not go until he is three years old.

What do you think?

She gets out of bed within 5 minutes of being alone in her room to play with her toys. We had to lock her dresser in her closet, she used to pull out all her clothes. I have tried telling her that she will get a spanken if she doesn't stay in bed, I have tried spanking her, I have tried sitting with her, I have tried just about everything. Anyone else have any ideas?

My son turned 1 about 3 weeks ago. He constantly babbles, squeals, & sings in church. Just wondering how to help him realize that church is quiet time.

Fortunately, the people in my church are very understanding & tolerant of babies. I just don't want my son to get out of hand...

Any ideas??

*Even if you don't attend church, maybe you have techniques that you use at the library or other "quiet" places.

she is not really used to playing with other children and following the rules like they have at nursery, (eg sitting at the milk table only to drink milk), her speech is not as understandable as most of the other children in her class and i think she gets frustrated a lot and therefore threw a couple of tantrums today, any advice on how i can make the rest of the week at nursery better would be greatly appreciated
