My son is just completed 2 years, He does not want to eat any solid food, He only drinks 1/2 a galon milk everyday. He is very active though.
We don't understand from where he is getting energy to play full day and late night. He is not sleeping good in the night also, is it due to not having food before sleep?

He used to be able to watch a short video or play with toys for a little while, while I did a chore, or checked my Email. But, lately it seems impossible to hold his attention (even if I AM sitting with him, playing) Even at the park he seems ...uninterested. Is it possible for a 2 year old to be "bored with life"
We always go out and play at the local park or Aquarium, go to the library, go to the big sandbox... etc... He also has playdates with other kids. He is not sick....

Doc says there is nothing medically wrong, but he still does not produce "normal" bowels. We cannot get him into preschool at this point b/c preschools will not change diapers for four year olds. Any advice?? I don't know what else to do with him.

Me and my son have always had a very close and understanding relationship....we are best friends. But lately he has become an absolute terror (think the omen) he NEVER listens, tells me to shut up, and breaks everything. I am not a passive mom I have tried time out, talking calmly, taking toys away, taking privilages away...even resorted to spanking. And he will still turn around and do the same thing (not even one minute later) My throat constantly hurts from yelling and tensing up. I am at my wits end...any advice (*only people with experience with kids please*)

Make me do the math when I ask you how old your baby is?
Why do you say: "12 months old" instead of 1 year? 15 months old instead of 1 year and 3 months? Why say 24 months instead of 2 years and 36 months instead of 3 years? (I actually had to ask the child how old he was when his parents weren't around and he said "3", why couldn't YOU just tell me that? ) Telling me how many weeks old a newborn - that makes sense. Months even makes sense, until the child is a year old - after that, you're making me do division in my head.

How would you like it if you asked me how old I was and I responded: "446 months old?" LOL! Now you know how we feel when we have to stand there for a second and do the math to figure out how old your child it. Why can't you just use "years" like everyone else?

And at what point do you stop reffering to their age in months and switch to years?

Life is complicated enough. Can't you make things a bit easier on us? Not everyone is a math wiz!

My husband and I got custody of his kids about 1.5 years ago. They have not seen their mother since-her choice not ours. According to the children the mother and her boyfriend were abusive to them. They are 4 and 7. The seven year old is doing better. He is in school and loves it and seldomn asks about mom anymore. The 4 year old on the other hand is our problem that we don't know how to handle. He hates us. He calls me a *****. He bites, he hits, he tried stealing the neighbors bike-while his own was right there. I've tried talking with him about how it makes us feel and how it makes him feel-he doesn't seem to get it. I've talked with therapists and they say it's because he's one of five children and trying to stand out. So we spend more one on one time with just him. Then he comes home and it starts all over again. My new concerns happen at night. He has been to the emergency room three times this month for getting up in the middle of the night and drinking or eating things he

I have a day care in my home and the parents of one of the babies I keep are starting to feed him solid food, he's 10 months and only has his four front teeth, no molars. I'm a little skeptical and worried that the food I serve the older children, ages 2 to 4, will be a choking hazard for him, especially since I tried to feed him cooked diced carrots today, at the parents' request, and he kept gagging and trying to spit it out. I think they are rushing the food issue, they started feeding him cereal at 4 months of age and he wouldn't close his mouth around the spoon until he was almost 6 months, and now this. Should I tell them they need to send prepared food for him because I do not feel comfortable feeding him the meals I'm preparing for the older children because it's a choking issue? I didn't feed my son solid food until I knew he had enough teeth to chew it properly, around 1 year. Is it too early or am I'm being overly cautious?

Sometimes she writes it just fine. Other times it is written from right to left with all of the letters backwards, in other words, it would be perfect if you read it in a mirror. Is this normal? I know sometimes kids write a letter or two backwards but this is completely backwards. Should I be worried about dislexia.

Took my son (2 yr old) to the dentist today and he told me to loose the binky as its starting to move my sons teeth out of position. How should I break him of his prized possession? Would it be better to start with only at nap time/bedtime then none at all or just OOPS binkys are gone completely? What did you do? How did you handle the tantrums?
