I am not a rude person at all and always nice and talk politely with others. My In-laws are very bossy, rude and bossy people and always try to impose things on me. I told them nicely couple of things which I do not like to do with my 11 months old baby girl (like giving her any food she is not suppose to eat all these and she might get sick with that ) but it seemes like they are never going to listen to me doesn't matter I am her mother. Some people said I have to be firm with. If I tell them firmly will it work? If they still doing things like this? How can I stop them? Please help me?

My family always make side comments about my kids not being with me (negative ones). On average they spend half the year with him and half with me. They are only 3 not in school yet but are they missing something by moving around so much??

after he crawled in and out on his own. He has been doing great at night time since its not light enough in the house to allow him to wander, but now how do I keep him in his bed during the day for naps? He is currently in his room crying because I have shut the door and it has one of those doorknobs babies cant turn on it so he cant get out. I just keep telling myself, its like putting him in the crib and letting him cry until he falls asleep. Is this ok or do you suggest something else? Yesterday he didnt even take a nap because he just sat in there and played and cried every now and then. I can hear what he is doing on the baby monitor so its not like he can implode or start a fire in there. But I still feel guilty. HELP

My one year old son has been having some issues with constipation. For the last three days he's had pebble stools, until yesterday when I gave him some apple juice and he had one normal stool. Today it's back to the pebbles, then he had a small stool that was soft, but was a really really light tan/sandy color (only in color). I've introduced him to peanut butter in the last few days. Could that be the cause of the constipation and the funny colored stools?

He's 2. House temp is about 70, he doesn't like blankets. Sleeps in a t-shirt or in middle of the night he will pull that off and sleep in nothing but his diaper. Wakes up and his hair and back are soaked and I have to change and wash his sheets each time. he has several changes of sheets because of this. I turn his ceiling fan on. He sometimes wakes in the middle of the night because he gets too hot. Is there a way to make him more comfortable?

I work at a day care in the infant/toddler room. We have a policy that each child is allowed to play with what ever toys are available on any given day. It is against this policy to restrict any child from playing with a certain toy at anytime unless another child is already playing with the toy.
We have a little boy in our room whose father demands that we only let his son play with "boy toys". He only wants his son to play with trucks, blocks and such. NO DOLLS are permitted. It is the same with his daughter who is also in this room. She is not allowed to play with trucks or such. He states only "girl toys" for her.
Do with go with this father's directions or not? How do we get him to accept our policy as is?

I love my child care provider - she's loving, smart, experienced and my kids love her. Plus, she's close by our house.

However, in her backyard she installs a trampoline each spring. My husband and I have asked that she not let our children play on it, because the risk of them getting seriously injured while we're not there is too much.

My 8-year-old understands. My 3-year-old doesn't, and he becomes surly and difficult for the whole day because of this issue. Finding new childcare will be difficult, both for us and for my toddler.

According to the State's licensing requirements, she can't have a trampoline and still maintain a valid license. She has shown no inclination towards removing the trampoline. Should I mention the licensing rules to her, and risk souring our good relationship? Should I report her anonymously, and hope for the best?

Sometimes when my 1 year old baby goes to sleep in his crib for a nap I walk to the corner store which only takes me 2 minutes to get there and back. So I am gone for a total of 5 minutes alltogether. My friend said I shouldn't leave him in the house alone, but I always lock up and the house is still in view at the store. What do you think?

I have a 2 year old. This is not the firt time she has has a diaper rash but I usually made it go away in one or two days. But this time, she has almost had it for a week. I think the problem is that lately she doesn't show any signs of having a soiled diaper specially if she has done # 2? I usually change her diaper every 2 hours even at night and check her every 20 minutes. If she is playing and having fun, she won't let me check her
