She is obsessed with TV. I don't generally ask questions about babies, cause I usually know the answer, but anyways- She is obsessed with Tv. If she is in the room, we cannot have the TV on because she just stares and watches the tv. Any Suggestions?

To the first person who answered, I am a stay at home mom, my daughter also suffers from seizures that are not able to be controlled by medicine, so I am with her 24/7, I am not about to turn the tv off every time we are in the same room- Thanks for the help. I put on Baby Einstein when I take a shower, and when I was cleaning the other day I put her in her swing (she's also delayed because of her seizures so she still can't sit up right, we are in physical therapy and other programs) and let her watch Noggin, She just doesnt stop staring at the tv.

My daughter was the same way-she loved Sesame Street and Teletubbies when she was a baby-it's the colors and the music that is getting her attention. My daughter is 4 years old, and she still loves TV, but I only let her watch it a few hours a day. But she did learn a lot from PBS kids shows and Noggin!

Limit the time.

Our daughter now 12 was the same way. She is "encouraged" to find other activities. She can play basketball, read, shoot her bow and arrow, walk the dog.

TV time during the week is limited to one hour/day and 2 hours/day on weekends. this still too much but at least she comes up for air now. We never will allow a computer OR TV in the bedrooms.

my 10 month old is the same way. he loves tv i am also a stay at home mom. my opinion on tv is as long as your baby gets other activities too there isnt anything wrong with it. my oldest daughter is smarter than most kids her age and i honestly think it is because she loves barney and barney shows teach her things. i have three kids and they love tv. we dont watch anything but learning tv shows and spongebob (my two oldest love it). just have tv time and other activity time.

She is just curious at all of the colors & motion. It will not hurt her to watch it while she sits & plays or is in her bouncy seat or walker or swing. My children have watched unlimited amounts of television from birth and their developement levels are above average & they are 3 & 6. They are well behaved & intellecual. I don't care what people say. It's not going to kill them, so if they are happy & you can manage to get stuff done. Who cares!
