I don't know the exact story, but there was a similar question, and lots of answerers said that the youngest girl to have a successful pregnancy was a girl from Peru in 1939 or something, and she was 5, was raped by her father, and had a son...

Yes it is. Due to hormones in our food girls are menstruating younger and younger. Of course we all know menstruation means our bodies are able to become pregnant. As far as a 9 and 10 year old getting pregnant goes, that is such a shame. Where are there parents? A 9 and 10 year old should not be left alone much less be knowledgeable enough to become pregnant. It does happen and I know that kids know so much more now than even 10 years ago but it is still a shame. I blame the parents and they should be held responsible for not being a parent and regulating what their child is doing.

Because as a whole we are eating better and healthier and girls are maturing earlier so it is not uncommon for a 10 year old to start her period or unheard of for an 8 year old to start her period.
There are some studies which have found that the typical trigger for the on-set of menstruation is when a girl hits about 100 pounds. Again, because we are so well fed nowadays, that can happen earlier & earlier.
And, once a girl is menstrating, she can concieve.
Pretty scary that she doing "it" at thoses ages though.

Very possible. some girls mature rather too fast especially when they are introduced to sex too early. Even b4 they reach puberty, if a girl has regular sex, this tends to quicken the onset of her period which of course may lead to automatic pregnancy.
though I've not seen that of 9, 10. I've seen 12 right beside my house.

As long as they get a period it is physically possible. Mentally and emotionally it can scar them for life. I am an ob nurse and had an 11 year old pregnant patient and when she came into the office she actually brought her stuffed animal in with her it was very sad to watch!!!

it is possible yes. A girl can start her period as early as 7 ( I haven't heard of any early than that) if she has a period and has sex then yes she can and will get pregnant. :( so very sad. The dangers are that her little body is not able to give birth so they have to perform C-sections.

It seems that girls are getting their periods alot earlier these days. I was 12, and I was the first of my group to get it, but that was more than 30 years ago. A friend of my daughter's went for her physical and the doctor said she was maturing too fast (?), and he was worried that she was going to be getting her period. She was 8.
I think it might have something to do with hormones in milk and food......

I saw that same article yesterday, as a RN
I never thought it possible, but according to that article, it is true...but it did happen in 1939....girls usually don't start their menses until 15 or 16, but I guess anything is possible, I sure would be looking for the person who made her pregnant.
