My 3-year old son is very cute, happy and active. However, he is becoming more persistent or stubborn. He has his own idea all the time. He says "No." most the time at his daycare.

In addition, he keeps running while other children sit around to study. The teachers can not stop him. At the same time, he can only concentrate a short time to learn, he just wants to play.

What can I do for the above things? Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know why my daughter went from calling me mommy and daddy daddy like she is suppose to calling me mommy and calling daddy mommy most of the time?? By the way she is 2 years old and if you show her a picture of me she says that's mommy and if you show her a picture of daddy she says that's daddy, so she does know the difference. So I guess I just want to know if it's a phase and she will grow out of it or what? One more thing she is a daddy's girl and she is smart.

My son has always had a eating problem. He gags when he watches someone else eat. He will not eat new things and it is getting harder to have him eat oatmeal and pureed foods. He gets very angry and eventually throws up. I am seeing the food team with the speech, dietician, and occ therapist but it is taking forever. It has been six months since our last appt. Someone who has had this same problem please help!!!! There are other things that he does that makes me wonder too. He has hated hair cuts ever since birth. He will fight to get away. He also has always thrown things such as toys or anything if he is upset. He has no desire to go on the potty. He has always been very hard to control. When it is just one on one he is such a snuggly boy. He has an older sister that is 4-1/2. They fight on a daily basis. I do think that is normal though. Anyone have words of WISDOM? Thank you for your help in advance.

I hate the shoes that are SHOES and cover the entire foot. The poor kid's feet would sweat to death! But I am having a hard time finding good sandals for a size 3.5 WALKER (all are pre-walkers).

Any ideas on a home made mother's day gift? I have a seven year old son, and 6 month old daughter.
Looking for something my son can make.
Obviously, my daughter couldn't do anything but I could make something from her.
Thanks.

she is 3 years and 3 months old. She has always picked up things really fast. My son is 4 and they have told me his is ahead acedmically and she is ahead of him - I do not make this an issue or discuss this around them. she has known shapes, colors and oppisites for a long time now. SHe can write the entire alphabet, capital and lower case without any assistance. Occasinally they are backwards or mirror image. If I remind her which side of the paper to start on it doesnt happen (left handed) she knows all the sounds the letters make. she can rhyme words, and can spell words that we have gone over for several days. Two days ago she wanted to help me write a grocery list. I told her how to spell peach. I told her one time and she wrote it. this morning she brought me a piece of paper with the word peach spelled correctly and told me she is writing a grocery list. she remembered after me telling her just one time. she counts to 50, add on her fingers...

My 18 month old daughter is in daycare and she keeps getting bit by girl, Dani. Dani is about 2-2 1/2 and the sheets I keep getting say my daughter is getting bit for "no reason." Not for food, not for a toy, for NO REASON? I've talked to a few people and they say some daycares have policies saying if one child bites 3+ times, they are kicked out of daycare, of the parent has to come to daycare for a day before the child can return etc. Does anyone know if there's a state-mandated law on this? I live in Alabama. I know it would inappropriate for me to talk to the parent, but I want to talk to the daycare teacher or owner; however, I'd like to have all information possible before approaching her. FYI, the bites are so bad that they almost draw blood...the last one was a dark red scabthat was clearly visible for 2 weeks. That's an extremely painful bite if it's through clothes and it leaves a mark like that.

I have 2 boys - 3 years and 4 years old. They share a room and we can not keep them in it at night. My husband turned the doorknob around so we can lock it from the outside. At night they cry for a very short time, but then they seem fine and go to sleep.....there is a baby monitor so we can hear them. I feel SO guilty that we have to lock in the boys at night.....but we can now get a soild nights sleep! I don't have anyother friends that do this, but we are at our wits ends! Those boys would be in and out of their room for hours...my husband and I took turns putting them back to bed and finally when we do get to go to sleep we wake up at 3 AM with both boys in our bed! Has anyone run in to this? Is locking the door a bad idea? - signed sleepless parents

My two year old makes me really paranoid when she sleeps. This child sleeps with her eyes open. I always go over and put my finger on her eyelid to close her eyes because it looks so unnatural. So, anyone else have a child that sleeps like this?

My 23 month old son and I are travelling to Italy and as he is under 2 years old, he is an infant which means I don't have to book an extra seat for him. This is the first time my son is travelling by air and I'm not quite sure how it works. Unfortunately calling Easyjet would cost me £1 per minute so I'm not really keen on the idea.

We just moved from Az to Ohio, and my 2 year olds nose has not stopped running. I've tried claritin, and she got a prescription for zyrtec, but neither seems to be working. I feel so bad watching the snot just drip down my babies face, what can I do? I think it may be grass that she's allergic to, we didn't have grass in Az, and her nose seems to be worse when she's outside. She also has red watery eyes, thats how I know it's allergies

My daughter (4y) was just invited to a b-day party this weekend. I believe the little girl is turning 5. At this age do parents of the b-day girl/boy prefer parents to stay @ the party w/their child? Is it just common courtesy to do so?

I have a beautiful 3 year old grandson (my only grandchild). My Daughter thinks I am being over protected when it comes to my grandson's safety, He loves the water but can't swim. I got him a life jacket. He would wonder outside and my Daughter never knew he went outside..So I installed door alarms, I covered all the wall sockets when he tried to put a pen in the socket. I make sure the smoke alarms have good batteries.only to find out my Daughter would remove them because thay went off while she was cooking and forgets everytime to replace the batterie back into the alarm.
All I want to do is keep them safe. I buy all the things to keep my grandson safe while he's at home. But my daughter now thinks I'm being over protected and should back off,,,,I'm affraid if I don't do something..my grandson could be hurt very badly, Am I really to over protecting my grandchild?

My 4 year old cousin was coloring in the kitchen and decided she wanted to play. she turned on the stove and stuck her hand in. Usually she isn't this bad and we just walked out of the room for a second. Well anyway how can you treat it with out using cream, protolium jelly, butter, or anything with chemicals.

I just started a job as a daycare assistant and narrowly avoided a situation I never realized I didnt know how to handle. What do you do when a child needs to go to the bathroom, especially the younger ones? Im not sure what the protocol is so I'd be grateful for any advice.

My husband and I are about to move into a new home. We are going to be downsizing from 3 bedrooms to 2 and our two daughters will have to share a room. They are ages 3 and 2. The room that they will be sharing is kind of small and I was wondering if they are too young to sleep in bunk beds. They both stay in their beds very well. I just don't know if they are too young and if I should wait at least on more year.

He falls in the 90 to 95 percentile for his height and 40 for his weight. Can someone please explain this percentile thing too me. If he is in the 90's does that mean he is average or above average

She sleeps for a good 8-9 hours when she finally sleeps but when she doesn't want to go to sleep it gets very aggrivating. Please help me!!! What can i do about this??
