We just moved from Az to Ohio, and my 2 year olds nose has not stopped running. I've tried claritin, and she got a prescription for zyrtec, but neither seems to be working. I feel so bad watching the snot just drip down my babies face, what can I do? I think it may be grass that she's allergic to, we didn't have grass in Az, and her nose seems to be worse when she's outside. She also has red watery eyes, thats how I know it's allergies

I would take her to the doctor. My son has bad allergies and he was on Zrytec for a while too but his allergies were still bad. He's on chewable Singular now and it's helped him way more than the Zyrtec. Good luck!

As an adult I have taken both Zyrtec and Claritin and not had any side effects from either one. I personally think Zyrtec is more effective. My doctor recently told me to start giving my 10 year old son Claritin every day and said that it is very safe. With a 2 year old, I would call the doctors office and talk to them about it. I have never heard of any of these side effects with Zyrtec, but I wouldn't want to take any chances. Ask the doctor if it would be ok to give the Claritin instead, and I would ask him if he had ever heard of those side effects.

Claritin makes an allergy pill that's chewable for children starting at 2 years old. My daughter will actually eat like it's a piece of candy so it must taste pretty good. It's grape flavored and my pediatrician recommended it. I found it at Walgreen's and I think it was about $10.00 a box.

if the meds they gave you aren't working take her back to the doctor and tell him what is still happening while your child takes the meds. that way they can find you a better one. it really stinks that they can't do the allergy tests on a 2 or 3 year old, i know. we're still trying to figure out what exactly my daughter is allergic to.

Try Childrens Benadryll or they make Triaminic for allergies and sinuses.

Your doc should be able to give her something else....over the counter meds will not do a thing. Go back and tell your doc what is going on.
