My son is 22 months old and was going through a biting stage. We managed to stop this by putting him down and ignoring the situation, then asking for an apology ( a kiss ) This worked, but now he has moved onto nipping and grabbing any bits of your body he can grab. I and my Husband are covered in bruises and have tried the same method we used with the biting but it is not working.
He really had it in for me today he was just walking past and would nip me for no reason. Then he bit me twice and every chance he got he went for me. I was left in tears as I don't know what to do anymore. He has never seen violence and has been shown nothing but love so I am now worrying that he is showing signs or ADHD or something similar. Please do not tell me to hit, nip or bite him back as I will not do this, that is in affect telling him that it is ok to do.
PLEASE HELP!!!

They just recently lost their mother to suicide. I know that it might be too soon to make them sleep alone but how do i know? The four year old always slept with my sister and the two year old used to sleep by herself but since this has happened she hates to be alone.

my son is 3 and when he gets into trouble he throws himself on the floor, kicks, screams, and throws things. Sometimes he scratches himself on his face, bends his fingers, and he wont ever look at me when i'm talking to him. It seems that he always has to be moving of have something in his hands. Could this be ADHD? I have tried every punishment in my head and nothing seems to be working. What can i do

My 13 month old daughter is starting daycare in a week. The daycare said that they would be happy to use her cloth diapers. However, I don't know what I can buy for them to store the soiled diapers. I'm looking for something that is compact and more importantly won't smell up the whole daycare. Any suggestions would be great!

My four yr old son didn't do anything last year for halloween.I bought him a superman costume but he refused to put it on.I tried to put it on him but he started crying hysterically.I have asked him if he wants to go trick or treating this year and everytime I mention it he starts crying. Is this normal? I think he is just scared because the last time we went he was fine, maybe its the dark.I don't know. has anyone else had this happen and if so what alternatives are there?

I have already bought her a present, which happens to be a toy that she asked for. Today I find out from her mom that a couple of weeks ago my niece lied to her father, so as her punishment she would not get any toys for her birthday. Now my problem is why couldn't they call me and tell me this. I'm am the notorious toy-giver in my family. Today is a particularly nasty day on the east coast so I have no intention to take out my son to buy another gift. My question is should I give her the toy or just cut the 5yr old a check as a birthday present?

I'm not a parent, but I'd like to get parents' opinions on this. My nephew just turned 5 and for the past year he's been trying to get a look down my shirt. He doesn't do it all the time, just once in a while. He's always snuggling up to me and trying to sit on my lap, which I love because he's such a sweet little boy. I don't even see it coming because he doesn't do it every time. And, I'm not wearing low-cut or tight tops, just a crew neck top or a sweater. I'll say "Hey! Don't do that!" and my sister-in-law will hear me and then scold him. What specifically should I say to him? Is there any way I can get him to stop?

She makes snarky comments about him having little scratches on his fingers from digging in the dirt; she changes his haircut; she makes cutesy baby-talk to him - he's three; she sniffs at me when my porch is untidy; she changes his clothes the minute she gets hold of him; she says in a sing-song voice, Time to kiss mummy goodbye!; she comments tidily on how he eats EVERYTHING when he's at Daddy's house, while he's a bit picky with food for me; she doesn't tell me important things about his behaviour when he's with her. I know I am grateful that he is being well-cared-for at Daddy's house; but the woman drives me nuts. She always makes me feel like an inferior mother. Do other mothers feel this way about their kids' step-parents?

And yes, I am always very positive when I talk about her with my son, I know how important that is. But am I the only one here?

Since the 3rd day of school my daughter has been comming home complaining that a little boy has been spitting in her face. I told her to let the teachers know, after a month of this & no resolve (he now coughs in her face too) I said somrthing, they said they are trying to distract him, which I didn't understand. So today I pick up my daughter & she is crying, the teacher tells me her & a boy (doesn't tell me the name) were teasing eachother & her homework for the weekend is to think of 3 nice things she can say about the boy & tell the entire class. So I talk to my daughter & it is the same boy! He spit in her & her friends face & she wrongly told him to quit or he could not go to school & called him a freak, so I disaplined her. But why is my daughter being disaplined @ school & not him. My huuby wants to put her in a diffrent preschool since she now dreeds going to school, but I don't know if that will just teach her to run from her problems. PLEASE HELP, what shopuld I do?
