Today was his 1st birthday. He woke up with a slight fever. it reached 102.5 earlier. his appetite hasn't been as good as it normally is. every time i try to give him tylenol he throws up. he seems to be in a good mood. his fever was 101.7 about an hour ago. i tried to give him more tylenol but he threw up right after he swallowed. (he has thrown up a total of 3 times today - all right after the tylenol dose) i plan on taking him to the doctor tomorrow, but is there anything that i should do now? also, he has a new tooth coming in and his nose is running (its a little green in color but only slightly). Some people have said that the fever may be from the new tooth, but he shouldn't have such a high fever. Anyone know what i should do?

I am depressed that he is growing up so fast, I am anxious and tensed that he will be away from home for so long. And I am worried that he might be hurt, unhappy , hungry, etc...and no one will notice or take good care of him. Is this unnatural??

I am a foster parent that took care of my 8 year-old nephew and 2 year-old niece for almost 5 months in the foster care system. Well, I will be taking care of my niece up until december or so, I want it to be forever! My sister lost her parental rights to her children and they have two separate fathers, to make a long story short, my husband and I plan to adopt my nephew, it looks promising. Well, my niece is another story, her father is trying to regain custody of her, we love her very much and I'm afraid he might get her. What should I do or how do I not worry about this? Someone please help me!

who is constantly finding something to add to or change when it comes to the way I dress, feed, sleep, bath, lay, discipline our three kids? I am a a stay at home mom, he is not home very much because he has two jobs plus goes to graduate school. When he is home, he complains about everything... For example, today we had our daughters birthday party and she got tons of clothes, pants, shirts, shoes .... everything.. SHe is set for the winter... Well my "husband" asked if she got any sweats and I said no but she has plenty of clothes for the winter.. She doesn't need anymore clothes.... So he says well I want her to have sweats so I'm going to buy her some... so there he is arguing with me after I point out repeatedly that she has more than enough..(three or four piles of clothes) just to be against me... Then the twins were crying in the car on the way home and all he would do was complain and stress me out about it. I'm going crazy! Help....me understand this man.

my kids seem to be staying up all day and not going to bed until the later hours of the night and they are usually impossible to get to sleep. I would like to know how much sleep they need and if they should be taking naps during the day. This way i know that i am tryinh to put them to bed at the right time for their age and that they get a good nights rest. Im hoping that this makes them alot less cranky and easier to talk to and deal with during the day.

My son is so cute and funny. But if he sees me watching him singing or dancing he stops and runs away. He has also memorized Dr. Seuss ABC book and it's really cute. I want to capture this on film but he will not do it. Any tips without bribing him with candy or food?

I am a man, so I could use some motherly advice. THANKS.

I was visiting my daughter's doctor the other day and I noticed that most waiting rooms have those busy bead tables. I know that they are used to assist our children with their fine motor skills, but how exactly do these things hold a childs attention for so long? Children never get tired of pushing those colored beads back and forth and I know as adults we don't care for simple entertainment. But the children in the waiting room were completly fascinated. Anyone have any theories?

I always put it in a simple pony tail or pigtails, as I'm not confident with braiding. It's quite fine, and just below shoulder length. I'm looking for simple but cute ideas, preferably online with lots of pictures that are quick to do as she gets fed up after about 3 seconds!

All the girls at her school seem to come in with really elaberate styles, and although I've spent a fortune on clips and bands etc, I'm not sure where to start.

Thanks for any constructive help.

Why are we still dealing with this? My 16 m/o son had bronchitis at the end of September. His pediatrician prescribed Augmentin Es, and I gave it to him as directed. Immediatly following the bronchitis, he was put on Omnicef for an ear infection. The infection was very hard to clear up, so he then was given shots of Rocefin. I beleive the ear infection is gone, b/c he seems very content, but he now has a thick, green runny nose. No matter what I do, it continously runs. I REALLY dont want him on any more antibiotics unless we have no choice. Is it okay to let this continue, as long as there is no pain or fever? Why is his nose running like this? In public, people look at me in disgiust, and they take their children away from him in fear of their child catching something. Please give me any advice.
Thank you-

My son and I stayed home until he was 13 months now I'm back at work and he's in Day care. It's only been 1 month and he's picked up enough bacteria to have a Sinus Infection and an Ear Infection.I know neither of these are contagious but I also know that they are both bacteria infections and I know he's not getting it from home.During the whole time we were at home he had a head cold once and that was when he was 7 months old.

My daughter just started wetting herself after being potty trained for over 2 years now. There is a new baby on the way soon, but she has known that she will have a little sister soon. She peed on the couch last night while sitting and today she just peed on the loveseat! She doesn't wet herself at night so I know this is voluntary. Is she being defiant because of the new baby? Is it attention? She keeps saying she's a baby again. Any insight would be appreciated!
