we have a 17 year old daughter who has made many bad choices in her life. we have five other children, three of which are young boys. she is on probation and has been dating a 20 year old boy who we thought was very nice. we felt their relationship was positive but recently found out she was pregnant. we also found out our step daughter who is 15 has been having sex, and we punished her by grounding and have ordered they only date at our home where we can supervise. she, luckily, is not pregnant.

the stepdaughter feels it is unfair we punished her but did not punish the older daughter.

i feel we should confront her and lay out some ground rules on behavior and dating now she is pregnant but my husband feels we shouldn't bother her now she's pregnant and she'll get her rewards when she has the baby and tries to raise it.

i just am looking forward to having a life with my husband some day and not raising another child.

errrr. My son is 16 months old and his mom insists on feeding him chicken nuggets. I tell her I cant stand it but on the other hand he is just a kid-he just eats whatever is in front of him. Mabey I'm overreating but I want him to be able to appreiciate healthly food that tastes good. So what should I tell her? When it comes to health stuff she kind of shuts me off.

I am tyring to get my 3 year old to potty in his potty. However, he won't stay on the potty for more than a minute. I give him books, colors, puzzles, and even candy to keep him occupied. He doesnt even pee after trying for more than an hour to get him to sit on the potty!! He shos interest in peeing. He'll say "Mommy Pee!" and run into the bathrooom to use it but then gets off after a minute. Then when you try to put a diaper or waterproof undies on him he crys and runs back to the bathroom and sits for another minute. Hes a very hyper little boy who hardly ever sits still for more than a minute. I should mention to that he has a speech problem and only speaks like a 18 month old would. Any help or thoughts is appreciated!!!

Does anyone happen to know what the going rate is to provide child care for a 2 yr. old......who is not potty trained (still in diapers) and is still on the bottle......my girlfriend is providing care for her neighbors little boy......and the neighbor is insists that the going rate is $4.00 hr.....I think this is very low.....especially to receive child care by an adult to who is providing for the child while caring for him.....Anyone have any idea of the current child care rate?
Thank you.

Breakfast is fine as he's happy to eat his cereal. Lunch/Dinner is a nightmare, I have tried a range of foods - boiled sweet potato, mashed potato, pasta, rice but he would not eat it. The amazing thing is he eats all of these foods and more at the childminders where he eats alongside 6 other kids

I have a 4 year old boy who eats very healthy. If you give him all the junck food he'll pick the vegies and salads. But he loves ice cream and candy. After his meals i do give him his ice cream and one candy a day.Plus he drinks juise with his meals.I am sick of some mothers asking me "Do you give him candy"?Yes he deserves to have his candy, just like every adult in this mother earth. It's not like i give him 10 candys a day.If his teeth are a consern,i brush them every day and i check for cavities which he has none.Pleas share with me your point of veiw. They make me feel guilty.

What does everyone think about spanking kids? Especially if a time out doesn't work on the child? We believe in the old saying, "spare the rod, spoil the child..." Our son is still in pull-ups, so the spankings don't hurt him, but the sound shocks him.

I have a neighbor with a child the same age about as my two youngest ,his boy wants to play with my kids but I dont let them play in his yard as he is not good (understatment)at handling normal kid things ,over reacts if his child is pushed or hit even when his child starts it but feels its fair play for his kid to hit ,scratch kick if he feels its justified. He smacked my 5 year old for pushing his boy off when his boy was scratching my boys eyes.Saw this my self.He also has done other things like let the kids play in unsafe place (in a drain)he was about to cut the throat of a day old calf ,(we are in the country)for dog meat in fount of my 5 and 2 year olds ,I ran in and draged the kids out that day before they saw any thing but he did not stop ,thinks Im babying them.Any way how do I say my kids cant play with out starting a neighbor war.His boy asks dayly but his dad says he cant come in my yard because I wont let my kids in his yard.

My son will be turning 3 in December. We live in the country and you can't ever tell how the weather is going to be, sometimes freezing and sometimes not. But I'm trying to plan his party (early), and don't know where to have it. Our house is too small and we don't have a garage (only here for a while, moving). Any ideas?
