Stop worrying about something you have no control over, sweetie. If the doctor is not worried why should you be? My youngest daughter did not walk until 17 1/2 months old. She is all grown up now, earned two Masters Degrees, played volleyball in school, has a baby and one on the way. Concentrate on other things to be worried about.

If the docs are satisfied with his development, then you should be. All 3 of my kids didn't start walking until after 13 month. I didn't think my youngest was ever going to walk, and he was about 15 months when he took off.
Do you carry him a lot? Try working with him and holding his hands to help him learn.
Or, is he a big baby? All 3 of mine were, and my ped told me that was why their walking was delayed. They were just too big.
Don't worry, okay. He'll take off running any time now, and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. :)

I wouldn't say it's "abnormal " it may be a little unusual that a child of that age isn't walking. He'll walk when he's ready. Keep working with him, He's happy just where he is. If the doctor does't see any physical reason for him not to be walking then be patient and just keep up what your doing. Trust me, once he starts then you'll be in for a whole new game... Good luck!!

My son didn't walk until the day before he turned 18 months. If the doctor's not worried, then you don't need to be either

I do daycare and i had one child who was around that age when he started walking, some children just take longer than others. Encourage you child to walk with a push walker and work with him by guiding him to hold your hands and walk. I am sure he will be walking soon and then watch out

He will walk when he is ready and confidant. Encourage him by standing him up and asking him to walk to you, but don't pressure him either. Pretty soon he'll have you running after him. My son was almost 15 months when he started walking.

dont worry too much. he will walk when ready. if still not walking by 2yrs then start to question. if he is healthy in all other aspects just encourage him to get up on his feet and be there to catch him . try playing a game using you and someone else to try and get him to go between the pair of you always making sure you both have a slight grip on his little hands to let him know he is secure and safe. i found walkers a great help with mine . it strenghtens their little legs and gives them security

Don't worry. 12-16 months is when it usually happens. And believe me, when it does, you'll want the non walking days back again. You think he gets around now, wait 'till he starts walking. lol
