I don't think there's a real "reason." I think it's just comfortable. It really is cute!

Because its the only time in life when its really sweet and innocent to kiss butt! Isn't that what those little bottoms up in the air were made for? :)

I think it's close to being in the fetal position and they feel safe and secure like that.
It's my 20 month old's favorite position.

my little girl bambi does this too, but has just started to do it, she is 15 mths. it really is the cutest thing ever until this morning when she pooped in my face and woke me up! it was hilarous, not very cute but hilarious!

My son does the same, he'll be 3 in a month. I'm guessing it's just comfy.

Because it IS so darn cute! Actually it's because it's fetal positoin (or real close to it) and that's how they are comfy :)

It's comfy.
I think it's really sweet too, my 18 month old does it- she turned 18 months old today- happy half birthday to Angel.

its something that they did in your uterus for 9 months, its a familiar feeling...my son is 4 years old and i catch him once in a great while doing it...it is very cute actually

i believe its because they are still so used to being in a tight, small space for so long , that that is a comfort position. your right its damn cute!!
