Love this age, as aggervating as it is. Enjoy it while it lasts
Soon he will be independent and will not want anyone to touch him.

My son is 14 months old and is the same way. He's my second child so it makes it pretty difficult for me. My first is 2 and was not like that at all. He would go to anybody! I've decided it's just his personality and try to take it as a compliment that he only wants me. He doesn't even want his daddy most of the time.
On the occasion that I have to leave him with someone (I'm a stay at home mom so it doesn't happen very often) I say goodbye quickly, tell him I'll be back soon and make a quick exit. If I leave him it's usually with his dad or grandma so he is ok after I'm gone a couple of minutes.
If I'm there and other people want to hold him, I let him decide. If I try to pass him off and he obviously doesn't want to go to someone else I don't make him. Try to enjoy this time... and good luck!

Try having your family around more, a baby uses smell etc to get to know people so if your baby can get to recognise certain things about each persn, they can then feel safe and hence leave you.
It may take a few weeks, but it will happen.

Seperation anxiety... Hard age. Not much you can do to make it go away. You can encourage him to be open to others. But may be as long as age 18 months before he grows out of this stage.

It's a stage that he will get over. All babies go through separation anxiety, it's very frustrating.

it's normal. babies really can leave their mommys easily until around age 5. i found that when our first born got around 3 years old, when his beloved cousins were at my parents, he would stay easily.
look at chimps, gorillas, orang utans - they don't put down their babies for years and this is how our babies evolved, too. (we're primates, too.)
