Please help! I have looked everywhere online!!! Someone must remember the plastic keepers with a bell in the middle to keep kids from untieing their shoes? You used to get them at Stride Rite with walking shoes, but they don't have them anymore!

My 4-year old is playing a sport for the first time and he gets so frustrated when someone tries to take the ball from him. He cries and he goes to the sideline instead of playing. I have told him that it is part of the game and that he should just try his best. I understand that is part of the age, but how do you teach your child resiliency?

We're expecting our secind child when my current one will be 22 months -- when he is 24 months should I start him on a toddler bed in preparation for the baby to move into the cribe he is now in??

Even if we were not having another baby, at what point is a child ready to go from crib to bed -- and is it crazy with them being able to roam around their room / house at night?

Thanks for your insight -- people with knowledge / experience in this only please - thanks!

My son loves baths, but will only stand up. I'm terrified he's going to slip and fall, but he's been pretty steady thus far. I've tried telling him to sit and physically sitting him down. He simply gets back up. My daughter went through a phase like this for about a week and then went back to sitting. This little guy has been doing this for months. Should I just give up?

My son is 27 months and only says a few small words. I am looking for games and things I can do to help him learn to talk. I read to him and encourage him to say different words, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Any ideas?

I have a 5 year old, and he is way out of control. He says bad words calls me fat. Partly to blame his father. We have been seperated almost 2 years. Everytime his father sees him he comes home calling me bad names. I have tried whiping him, he only laughs at me. Doing time out I have to hold him down the whole time. And taking things from him does not work either. I would really like some advice. I want to be a good mother and want my kids to grow up with resect.

I have a 3 year old daughter. She is absolutely wonderful. She is in daycare and the staff comments that she is very well behaved and well mannered. She never gets in trouble while she is there. But then, at the grocery store or at a ballgame, she decides to throw these temper tantrums... yelling and screaming when she does not get her way. We have always had rules since she was little but it is really embarrassing when she does this- I don't know how to handle it. The last time it happened, we were at the doctor's office and she started playing and banging on the stirrups on the table. I calmly asked her to come and sit down but she started crying and yelling and stomping her feet. Then, she ran over to the door and opened it and proceeded to run screaming down the hallway. I had to excuse myself, asked the doctor to go to see another patient while I calmed her down. He didn't know what to tell me- all he said was "every child is different". (My other child is soft spoken)

My daughter has been going to daycare for about 2.5 months now and has been great! I've been doing the crappy shifts at work so when I drop her off I don't see her again until the next morning. (she's in bed when I get home after work) Everything was fine for her until last week, I dropped her off Monday, no problems but ever since she's been crying when I drop her off. Just carring her upt the steps to daycare I can feel her body tense up and she starts to freak. She is 14 months old. Is she starting tom realize "time" and knows she wont see her mommy for a long time or do you think it has more to do with how she has been treated at daycare. Just breaks my heart to see her so upset when I leave, I have a good bawl too. (I don't let my daughter see me tho)
Any suggestions or tips???????

We will be moving our little one out of the crib soon as she is starting to break free. I was reading in Todays Parent magazine that when they go to a toddler bed that they are usually only in it for a few months? I thought she would be in it for a few yrs.
So I'm taking a toll..............
Did you/or will you put your little one in a
A-Toddler bed
B-Twin size bed
please give a brief reasoning for your answer. Many thanks

He started showing an interest before he turned two and I have been constant about asking him if he needs to use the potty since then. When he says no I just say ok. Now he has no interest at all and always says no, no matter what I try and how fun I make it sound. What can I do to get him interested in it enough to get serious about this and get it done?

Her older brother just started kindergarten and now she won't slow down for a nap until suppertime. She gets UNBEARABLE! I've tried taking a nap with her (ha! That just gives her freedom to roam around the house doing naughty things!), having her lie down with a favorite cartoon or movie, playing soft music, etc. All these tricks used to work, but to no avail now....

SHe will jabber and can say words such as baby, mommy, dada, she will occasionaly repeat something someone says, but she will not say things when asked what something is, or when told to say this.... My friends child which is the same age has a much more advanced vocabulary and will repeat anything you ask her too. My daughter is very smart and has no mental handicaps that are preventing her from talking.

A friend of mine has a baby who is 18 Months old and he has such a bad temper that when he can not get his way he bashes his head on the walls and floor. The Home visiting nurse has said to the parents it's quite common and is a way of releasing tension for babies, but I'm sure he does it too often. Has anyone else experienced this and how can the baby bee weaned off of this stage. (It looks so painful to watch)
