We will be moving our little one out of the crib soon as she is starting to break free. I was reading in Todays Parent magazine that when they go to a toddler bed that they are usually only in it for a few months? I thought she would be in it for a few yrs.
So I'm taking a toll..............
Did you/or will you put your little one in a
A-Toddler bed
B-Twin size bed
please give a brief reasoning for your answer. Many thanks

If you have the money to spend, get a toddler bed, it is better for the kids because it is smaller and lower to the ground.
However, it is a small investment in something they are not going to use for very long, more than a few months, but no longer than a couple years. You can buy a twin size bed, and just put little gaurd rails on it so they don't fall out. This is perfectly fine!

Go straight to a twin size bed. A toddler bed doesn't last long and they're just as expensive almost! You can get cute bedding for the twin size too. Check out walmart.com for twin sized beds and mattresses and see what they've got, can at least get an idea maybe.

I put our son in a toddler bed because we got a racecar bed from a friend. He was a bit too young still I think (16 mos). Anyway, yes, they are not in it for too long, so if you want something long term get a twin. The advantage to the toddler bed is they usually aren't too expensive and you can use the crib mattress.

A toddler bed, my daughter bed is a 4 in 1 type of bed. And I just change it into a toddler bed for her and she enjoys very much, I think the twin maybe a little bit to soon for her....

Straight to a twin bed.

I moved my daughter from the crib to a twin bed right after she turned two and was escaping her crib. She's a tall kid so I thought she'd be more comfortable in a twin bed, but we want her to have lots of space in her room so we chose not to get a full size bed. (Some of my friends gave their little ones full size beds, that's fine too.)

I found a great deal on a headboard and ordered the mattress from a local factory, the whole thing cost me less than $200, plus bedding.

Right to a twin. Why buy two beds when they will only use the toddler one for a short time.

toddler beds are a waste of money, unless you have a crib that converts to a "toddler bed". A toddler bed is just a crib-sized bed. Ours went from the crib to a single bed around age two. we used side rails till 3.

I bought a toddler bed because it was a dora the explorer one and it made her excited to be in it. It was on sale I figure - we already have the crib mattress. Plus I want to wait until she is a little bit older and then skip the twin and by her a double or queen.

Just bought my son a toddler bed. Looks smaller than in the catalog and he is a big boy (not overweight but tall.) I would go with a twin bed and buy separate special side rails or bars so that your little one does not fall out of bed.

Our crib coverted to a toddler bed (the side came off) but my daughter is tall for her age and rolls ALOT so we got her a twin bed for her 3rd b-day. She's more confortable and hopefully this one will last her a while.
Like the other girl said.....why buy 2 beds when one is only gonna last a few months?
