Says he is cold, pale face, red tired eyes, fatigue, NO fever, ears and lungs are clear, mild coughing...?
My son is four. He's been sick for 8 days now and his symptoms are not improving.

WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN A DOCTOR AND ARE GOING TO SEE ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!!! Doctor says he has a cold. Bullshit.

If you have any idea what could be causing this or have experienced this...please tell me!!

Today, he didn't even want to walk on his own and wanted to be carried.

If you found out your 3-year-old was being allowed to walk alone down a long hallway to get to a potty with NO adult supervision.

Anyone could be lurking in that hall way or the kids could easily open the door to the stairwell (the facility is on a 2nd floor of a large church building) and fall down the stairs.

I had another parent tell me they witnessed the teacher allow my child to go alone to the potty.

I've already confronted the teacher, should I now confront the director or just not send my child back at all ? Does anyone else find this upsetting?

I don't know many people where we just moved..any ideas to keep the kids busy while I rest on the couch? It's raining outside otherwise I would at least be able to sit out in the yard while they play.

I keep reading answers to parental guidance questions particularly those involving pre-schoolers and toddlers where-by the advice seems to be "naughty step" or secluding the child in a corner or similar. This seems really weird and old fashioned to me but because a couple of nannies with tv shows and no kids themselves have said its a good idea everyone is doing or suggesting it. Does everyone really think that singling out and secluding a child when they have played up is a good idea.My 18 month old is at creche while i work in the daytime and i'd be furious if her carers did that and she's no angel just a typical 18 month old toddler. Am i alone in this line of thinking, I really worry about the whole naughty step discipline issue.

Any advice would be very helpful at this point. For the last 3 days, my two yr old son, has been sick. Right now it's just runny nose, and coughing. yes I am taking him to the doctor, on monday if I can get him in. He has never really been sick, so we have been really lucky. The thing is, the last 3 days. It's almost like he has had an energy boost. I dont give him a lot of sweets, so I dont think it's that. He does not want to sleep, therefor I am not sleeping. I try to be understanding, but he is going for like 12 hour stretches with no nap. Then when he does sleep, which isnt until the wee hours of the morning. He is only sleeping about 5 hours. That is out of 24 hours. I want to help make him comfortable, and relaxed. I just dont know what to do at this point. If anyone has any pointers, please feel free to share. Also, keep in mind this has never happened before. So, I as well am still learning. Thank You!!

My husband's grandchildren (aged 5 and 6) are overactive to the point of destruction. Each time they visit, they are in constant aggitated motion, shrieking and hooting, and racing from room to room, picking up any damned thing that strikes their fancy, spilling, tearing, breaking and generally tossing each room they enter into disarray.

The parents speak to them, but the kids are not *required* to behave like humans, and the kids know it.

Of course, any advice is welcome, but what I'd really like to know is, am I wrong to dread their visits? Is there something wrong with me to think this is unacceptable? Everyone else seems to think it's ok.

Thanks for any comments.

The dog has all her vaccinations, so that's not an issue.

I am making a CD for my niece and am looking for suggestions. She loves to dance and I'm looking for a variety of fun, appropriate music from lots of different genres for her. It would be nice if the songs could be tolerated by adults over and over again too. Examples so far: Jack Johnson (assorted songs), Under the Sea from Little Mermaid, some classical from Nutcracker. My exposure to what toddlers listen to is limited, in terms of music specifically for them. Any suggestions? Thanks!
