I am making a CD for my niece and am looking for suggestions. She loves to dance and I'm looking for a variety of fun, appropriate music from lots of different genres for her. It would be nice if the songs could be tolerated by adults over and over again too. Examples so far: Jack Johnson (assorted songs), Under the Sea from Little Mermaid, some classical from Nutcracker. My exposure to what toddlers listen to is limited, in terms of music specifically for them. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The chicken dance...it is hilarious to see them do it, I taught it to 1 year olds! Also, how about some songs fron Kenny Loggins's "Return to Pooh Corner". Oh, and Raffi has a ton of wonderful childrens songs(they are all good).

The chicken dance is ADORABLE, but there are some Disney Playhouse shows that offer the cutest songs. I have a neice that will be two in November and she absolutely LOVES the Doodlebops. They have upbeat songs that usually have a good message to them, and the shows are adorable too (trust me, I have watched them NUMEROUS times with my neice) The girl that said the Cheetah Girls was a pretty good suggestion, it is very upbeat, and she will enjoy them until she is at least ten!! They have good messages to their songs usually too. The Doodlebops and the Cheetah Girls have CDs out on the market, and I am sure you could find them somewhere so that you could burn the songs, and you could easily find the Chicken Dance in any store that has Children's music. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Oh, you gotta get a Henry Mancini cd. He was the guy who wrote the theme song to the old Pink Panther movies. My parents had an LP of his movie themes, and mom would bring that out for us to dance to when we were kids. It's old, but the sounds that the orchestra pulls out are hysterical. He did the Peter Gunn theme, Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's, the Baby Elephant Walk, and a bunch of other stuff...

I got a CD for my little girls of the Backyardigans. It's a great show and I don't mind the music. If you go to nickjr.com you can click on the radio, and it will play music from all the shows. Dora is really popular too. What a nice Auntie you are!!

I would use anything Disney. They have great music. Also, Winnie the Pooh which most children know and can recognize. Anything from Playhouse Disney.

Maybe if you search google for Childrens music you can find a bunch. Good Luck.

What about Laurie Berkner? Her songs are kind of catchy and silly. I like them.

Have you heard that song from Noggin that Moose A. Moose sings? Something like, days are the sunniest, jokes are the funniest....
That song is so cute! Noggin has the best songs.
