Maybe cause they are too lazy to wean them off the bottle or cant stand the screaming and whining when the kid doesnt have the bottle. Prob spoiled kids.
Both my kids were off the bottle and drinking from sippy cups before they were 11 months old.
The sooner you wean them off things, the better, otherwise the process will take longer.

By the time a child turns 2 they should be completely off the bottle. Drinking from a bottle too long can cause tooth decay because of the way the milk pools around the teeth. Also, never, never put juice in a bottle. That will rott their teeth, even if they don't have any yet. The sugar collects and causes bottle rot.

I knew a guy who let his four year old son do the same thing. I also know a man who lets his 10 year old son do the same. It's rather strange. However, I believe by two years at the latest, a child should be weened from the bottle and be using a cup. If they need comfort, there are other methods that can be used besides a bottle. I think for those parents that allow their child to use the bottle older than two are obviously having a difficult time weening them. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to be stern and replace that bottle with a healthier habit.

I have two little girls, 3 and 20 months. My 3 year old would not give up the bottle for nothing. She only used it at night for bed. But about 5 months ago I said thats enough, we went to the store, both girls picked out a toy when we got home they could not play with their toy until they threw away their bottles. The oldest did it right away, and once the 20 month saw her sister do it, she tossed hers as well. Now we have another on the way, and I am sticking with 1 as the time to get rid of the bottle.

Well I'm a mom of 2 .My son is 7 and my daughter is 3.With my son I had him on a sippy by 9 months was one of the easiest things I ever did.My daughter on the other hand was about 2 when I finally convinced her she didn't need a bottle and she wont even drink from a sippy now.She prefers to have a small child's cup.Just depends on the parent and how determined they are to take there kids off the bottle. Not really your concern though, not your kids.

I also agree that seeing toddler running around with a bottle or passy is wrong....my daughter is 18months and still has a bottle at bedtime...but that is all....she knows that if she wants her bottle its nite nite time...same with her passy.....she drinks from a sippy cup all day long she just wants the comfort of her bottle at bedtime...we plan on after we move next month after she gets settled from the move to take the bottle away and when she turns 2 in April the passy.

My son is 12 months and still has a bottle. I only give him 3 bottles a day. Morning, nap and bedtime. He gets a sippy cup the rest of the day. I am hoping to have him weaned my the time he is 15 months.

I have a 17 mo old..and shes been off bottles since she was about 11 mos old. I did give her a bottle (just recently) when she was sick..and wouldnt take anything....she snuggled into me..and sipped on the bottle....as long as she was getting some fluid in...I didnt care how.
I try not to judge other parents...I certainly am not perfect..so maybe they have their reasons for using bottles. My daughter refused bottles at about 11 mos and we havent looked back.

Any child over 1 year old should not be on a bottle in my opinion. Considering most pediatricians recommend starting a sippy cup around 5 mos., children any older then that simply have lazy parents. Unless the child has disability that prohibits the use of a cup, it is lack of parental involvement.

some parents don't want to let their babies grow up and the bottle is a symbol of babyhood.
some of it is cultural... I know a woman from Mexico who insists that a baby is a baby and takes a bottle until they are well past 2 years old.
the bottle should be gone by 15 months... if not by their first birthday.
