Antibiotics ..the amoxicillian. could cause the Diaharria, the pharmacy should have told you this, Keep giving her Liquids, preferrably NOT SUGARY ONES(which can make dehyration worst), if she is congested keep giving her the Dimatapp like your Dr. has said to do.
As long as she is keeping Lots of fluids in her adn she is peeing, Food will come later she'll eat when she is Absolutely Ready..

The diarrea comes along with the ear infection. My son has had lots of ear infections, we gone almost 7 months with out one "knock on wood" and yes he got diarrea. Dont worry yourself. As long as she is eating ok. and Drinking a lot you will be okay, you might want to get some A&D for her butt if the diarrea keeps coming and watch for the signs of dehydration, dry mouth and no tears are the biggest sings for a little one. And thats what the er will tell you also so dont waste the money, I would recomend benadryl, robitussin CF, or if its allergies thats causing the stuffness do claritin. My son has allergies that cause the ear infections one we got his allergies under control then the infections stoped. Make her some of her favorite foods and have them ready to eat. she will not let herself starve and she will eat when she is ready, I always make him ramen noodles, or a hot dog he would never pass them up. She will be okay, your doin a good job.

Its probably part of the infection. It could be she has some sort of virus ontop of a bacterial infection. Its common for latent viral infections to take root when you're on an antibiotic.

Antibiotics weaken your immune system as they fight the infections, and they are useless against viruses.

Get her some ensure, or pediasure to drink while she's refusing food. make her some cream of wheat or cream of rice that is very watered down with milk. She can even drink it through a straw.

The diarrea should clear up in a couple days. If it doesnt and she ends up with abdominal pain, or a severe stomach ache that is making her vomit, call her doctor again and make sure its not something different.

Its a normal part of being a kid. Its not fun watching your baby be sick. But she'll fight it off.

Be sure to feed her yogurt once a day for the next few weeks, and give her a multivitamin if her doctor allows when she's feeling better. Her immune system will need time and nutrients to recharge after the antibiotic.

I think it's best to take her to the hospital or a walk-in clinic right away. She's in no real danger if the fever is gone, and the pedialyte is a good thing. There are other antibiotics that she could take that won't cause diarrhea, so get down there and get those and she should be fine. To help her breathe better, put a vaporizer in her room and a little Vicks on her chest.

Call your doctor and tell him about the diarea. He can prescribe a different anti-biotic that may not have the same side effects. Keep giving the pedialite, as it is replacing fluids and electrolites she is loosing from the diarea. The dimatapp should begin to help with the breathing, but you must also get the infection under control.

supply her Tylenol or Motrin. If the fever drops then she in all likelihood in simple terms has a computer virus. If the fever would not drop then call her pediatrician. toddlers get bugs each and every of the time and it is not uncommon for them to run a temp of 102. i would not rush her to the E.R. or something. If her temp drops with meds then she would be wonderful and you are able to call the well-known practitioner interior the morning. recommendations injury would not initiate at 104 or one hundred and five with an toddler. I also have a preemie and that they instructed me that recommendations injury would not initiate with a baby until eventually 106 or 107. do not enable those human beings scare you.

My son had the same problem!!! I spoke with an ER doctor and they said they rarely treat ear infections any longer. They let them heal on their own. He said to treat the syptoms and most importantly get my son to eat/drink and keep it down before he dehydrates. The amoxicillon was causing him to throw up and have diarriea. As soon as I stopped it, he ate! I gave ibuprofin for the pain of the ear ache and all is well!!

As for her not breathing well, is this from conjestion or asthma? If it's just conjestion from the cold, treat with an OTC (over-the-counter) medicine. If it's asthma, call a doctor.

Sometimes PediaLite will give a child diarrea. Introduce more fiber in her diet and keep an eye out for alergic reactions to the antibiotics.

antibiotics can cause diarrhea as a general rule. But before you take her off the medicine you should check with your doctor. Even though the fever is gone, the infection could still be there and if you take her off too soon, it could develop into one of those super infections. So call your doctor to get advice.

To get her to breathe better, you could try a vaporizer.

call the doctor the diarrea is probably a side effect. ask the doctor if diarrea is normal to have when taking amoxicillon. then go from there don't worry she'll be ok.
