I am not feel very well. I canbearly get off the couch and it happens to be that my husband is away on business and family out of town. I don't know many people where we just moved..any ideas to keep the kids busy while I rest on the couch? It's raining outside otherwise I would at least be able to sit out in the yard while they play.

Okay, put your 16 month old in a playpen with a few toys..a sippy cup...and anything he/she could fall asleep with. That will occupy that one for a few hours at least. I have a 2 and a half year old and if I put on cartoons that he likes it normally occupies him for a while. Otherwise you will just have to wait until nap time to catch a few z's and relax.

Put there favorite movie on. How about cartoon network? Tell them that if they are good Mommy will take them somewhere special when you feel better.

Call one of the few people you know and ask for help. You are now good to them in the state you are in.

Hire a nanny or a helper. Explain to them your situation and that you aren't very well. I'm sure you'll find help somehow.
