Yes this would upset me very much! I also have a three year old...they get distracted, mine has a hard time getting his pants up and down to go potty sometimes... perverts lurking in the hall aside, what if he just got hurt, no one would even know about it... I think I'd pull my kid out of that facility ASAP!

Yes it would bother me!! If you've confronted the teacher and she's still allowing your child to go to the bathroom alone, I would not send my child back. I have a 20 month old, and I know how quickly toddlers can get into things. You probably know, as well, that accidents can happen in a split second. God forbid this teacher let your child go to the bathroom and some pervert be lurking around. Anyone with common sense knows that it takes all of 10 seconds for someone to grab a child and be gone with them. If I were you, I would not let my child go back. Number 1, for their safety. Number 2, because I would do nothing but worry all day about if they were safe or not. I would also make it a point to tell as many parents as possible about the teacher's behavior. I would want to know if I were one of the other parents. Good luck and God bless.

Absolutely! A 3 year old needs supervision. It is irresponsible not to watch the child. Yes, there is the potential for someone to kid nap the child, but what about the child falling or hurting himself in another way.
I would pull my sons out of the program and discuss it with the director.

Yes it is unacceptable to allow a three year old to go potty with out supervision. All they have to do is follow the child they don't need to go in unless the child needs help but you are right on this one. If you feel your child is not safe then look into other care facilities.

I agree with you, it would upset me as well. And you do have a dilemma, on the one hand if you keep your child at home you know he's safe but what if something happens to another child because you didn't take it further. And then on the other hand, sending him back, you're always going to worry that your child is taken care of. In my opinion, if you send your child back or not you need to do what you can to ensure the protection of all the children. And talking to someone would seem to put a safeguard in place at least to some degree.

I would definitely recommend that you tell the director, they need to know what is going on in their child care facility. This teacher's practice's really need to be dealt with for the safety of your child & other children. Obviousy it is a shared building so security isn't tight, so yes I'd be worried about 'strangers' in hall too. I'm a teacher (3yr- 5yr olds) myself (scotland) & i would never dream of sending a child of 3 out to a potty by themselves. Not sure what governing body you are covered by (don'y know where you are) but i'm sure there will be one who if needed can become involved in this 'complaints procedure' you yourself can contact them if you don't get anywhere with the director. And it's my advise that you do contact them!! Child protection & safety is the core of our job! Something which this teacher needs to be reminded of!
Good luck x

Yes this would upset me I have a 4 yr old it is scary to send you kids anywhere anymore you place them in the hands of the school to be taking care of them they are responsible for your child from the time you take them until they are back w/ you .If this is a commen thing I would definitly speak w/ the director .It is absolutly neccessary you address this if they brush it off as normal well then the wise thing would be remove your child from there.

well first of all for a child being 3 years old a teacher should not be with that child while going to the bathroom, number 1 its against the law, number 2, that mother should of been with the child when the child had to go to the bathroom, and 3rd 3 years old is much too young in my book for that child to go to school or a pre school day care thing, and to answer your question yes that is upsetting on what you wrote and if i were you i would pull my baby out of that and stay home and be a stay at home mom for awhile

Of course!! You need to talk to the teacher and tell her that you do NOT want your child walking down a long hallway by himself! If that does not work, you may need to find somewhere else for your child to stay.

That would get me mad. Since they are only 3 they can get distracted and you never know they can get hurt or lost. also some kids need help buttoning their pant. What you should do is confront the director
