This could be a food allergy. Try keeping a log of what he eats, and how he behaves afterwards.
Does he get diarrhea after eating these foods? Gas? Vomiting? Sleepiness? Be sure to notate that.
Once you have collected this data, go back to the pediatrician and ask for a referral to an allergist. You may be dealing with a gluten allergy, or a pre-diabetic condition.
The allergist will be able to test for these and other conditions. They may also ask you to REMOVE these foods from his diet, and re-introduce them one at a time to see how each food affects him.
Again, you'll need to collect information so that when you go back to the doctor, you have good info about the specific foods that bother him, and the reactions he has.
Also, check inside his mouth for any sores, new teeth, etc. just to make sure there's nothing bothering him in the mouth area itself.
You might also want to see a different pediatrician. Ours are in a group. The first one told us that there was nothing wrong with our child. We came back the very next day (our child was constantly vomiting) and asked to see a different MD. He sent us directly to the hospital for tests.
So sometimes, a different doctor has a different opinion. Remember, that they can only work on a diagnosis using the info that you give them, so be as specific as possible.
Hope this helps!

I would first try eliminating all the foods that you are questioning, then slowly add back in one food at a time in moderation. This may help determine if he has a food allergy to one certain food or not. Little tummies are alot more delicate that grownups and the foods may be to harsh on his small digestive system. If you are still concerned I would find a doctor to do allergy test, and check his blood sugar levels both fasting and after the said foods. Hope this helps.

If you are concerned I would eliminate them from his diet for 3 weeks re-introduce them. If he gets cranky again then you will know the foods are upsetting his tummy or he has an aversion to these foods. Just curious why you are very concerned if he is growing well? Is it because you think he is having a reaction or because you are worried that he is picky?

Then stop feeding him refined foods. Feed him whole wheat pasta and brown rice and avoid the sugar. Corn is high in sugar so avoid it.

It sounds like he could be allergic to gluten. Try offering him gluten free foods.
